It’s time for this month’s Birchbox, and instead of the normal box they’ve given subscribers a ‘Birchbag’ which is made of scuba material in a off-white colour, with a neon coloured trim with four different colours on offer. I’ve been searching the BirchboxUK hashtag on instagram to see what others thought of the bag as I’m really not a fan of it and the awful off white colour, and it seems I’m not alone especially when you compare it to the Glossybox zipped bag this month and they claim it’s worth £8.
All boxes this month will receive a mini Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Mulberry (purple) or Expresso (brown) and I got the Mulberry shade which is a pretty metallic purple. The liner has a lovely creamy consistency, and it really does impress in terms of longevity and its waterproof claims. It is a pretty eyeliner, but Birchbox keep repeating pencil eyeliners and it gets a little repetitive.
I have to admit I did a little groan when I saw the Anatomicals The Buff Stuff Citrus Body Scrub inside the box as I don’t like the Anatomicals brand as their names are quite cringe, and their products aren’t particularly great quality either sadly plus there was an incident where their Twitter account were inappropriate so I don’t like to promote them so let’s move on…
Then we have a perfume sample – the English Laundry Pour Femme fragrance. We all know I don’t like perfume samples in beauty boxes so I won’t bang on about it.
Next up is the Merci Handy Love & Hand Cleansing Gel which is a mini pocket antibac which is always useful, and I’ve thrown this into my handbag as it smells really fresh and it’s not super drying either.
Then we have a 15ml sample of the Balance Me Radiance Face Mask which claims to polish, hydrate and smooth the skin. Birchbox seem to love Balance Me as they repeat their products so often (alongside Caudalie and Parlour) so I’d much rather see a new brand to the boxes.
The last item in the box is a sample of the Philip Kingsley One More Day Dry Shampoo which is described as a refreshing, soothing dry shampoo for all hair types. This is an handy size for your handbag or gym bag for on to the go freshen-ups, and Philip Kingsley is a great brand.
Unfortunately I don’t think this was a great box for Birchbox this month sadly, but I’d love to know if you got anything different/better in your box?
