Just when you think MAC is done with their Holiday Collection, they launched the MAC Shadescents Collection which is another limited edition launch which is available to purchase now. The MAC Shadescents Collection is a range of six beautiful fragrances which have each been inspired by iconic MAC Lipsticks, with the fragrances being created to reflect the personality of each lipstick. The Shadescents fragrances are all colour coded to reflect the colour of the corresponding lipstick, and the six lipsticks have limited edition packaging to match the fragrance which I really like. I love MAC Turquatic as it’s one of my favourite summer scents, so I couldn’t wait to try the new fragrances as it’s such a fun concept and I have the MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick and matching fragrance.
MAC Candy Yum Yum is a such a statement shade which was first released as a limited edition shade, but due to popular demand MAC finally made it a permanent shade and is a bright, almost neon pink with a strong blue undertone and a matte finish. The Candy Yum Yum Lipstick is £15.50 which is the same price as the normal MAC Lipsticks which I think is pretty good, as MAC tend to slightly inflate the prices of lipsticks when they have limited edition packaging.
The Candy Yum Yum Fragrance is £35 and contains 50ml of fragrance and is described by MAC as being a ‘fruity floral gourmand’ and I love it. I was worried the fragrance might be too sweet and sickly but it’s the perfect mix of sweet and floral, and I think it’d be perhaps best suited for the summer but as it’s only available now for a limited time, it’s now or never if you want to add it to your fragrance collection.
I’ve never tried MAC Candy Yum Yum before now, but I’m shocked by how pigmented and smooth the lipstick is as it glides across the lips with no pulling or tugging, which is so surprising for such a matte lipstick. Candy Yum Yum is amazingly bright and out of my comfort zone completely, but it’s a lot more flattering than I thought it would be for my skintone which I think is down to the blue undertone and it does a great job at making your teeth look whiter too. I think MAC did a great job with the Candy Yum Yum fragrance as it really does reflect the namesake very well, but I’m intrigued to see how the other shades in the collection compare as there is also; Creme D’ Nude, Lady Danger, Heroine, Ruby Woo and Velvet Teddy.
