When it comes to makeup, we all have at least one product which we simply cannot resist and for me it’s most definitely eyeshadow and eyeliner. I own enough eyeshadow and eyeliner for several hundred lifetimes but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to try more. I’ve been wearing eyeliner on a daily basis since I was around 14 years old, and I find that wearing eyeliner gives me a real confidence boost which I guess is down to my pathetic stumpy lashes so I feel like liner helps to give my eyes some much needed definition.
With my eyeliner, I love using all formulas; pencil, pen, cream or gel and I like to change up my liner formulas depending on the look I’m going for or how rushed I am when wearing makeup. If I’m short on time I’ll always favour pencil eyeliner as it’s considerably easier to apply and only takes a few seconds per eye, but if I’m not in a rush I love to use gel or cream eyeliner as I find it to be longer lasting as well as being more intense and dramatic. My current favourite gel eyeliner would have to be the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner but I don’t love how quickly it dries up within its jar, and I do sometimes find that it can be a little thick which isn’t ideal for when I want a more precise and subtle lined effect.
Excitingly enough, bareMinerals are about to launch a brand new product which I couldn’t wait to try which will be exclusive to QVC (it officially launches February 4th at 5pm (QVC product code: 231 022) so make sure you tune in to the launch show); let me introduce you to the bareMinerals Must Have Eyes Silky Cream Eyeliner £25 which is the brand’s first cream eyeliner formula. The new bareMinerals Must Have Eyes Silky Cream Eyeliner will be available in two super wearable shades; Rich Black and Deep Brown, and not only do you get the new eyeliner, the set includes a fantastic full size bareMinerals Line Expert Brush which is dual ended and one of the best eyeliner brushes I’ve tried.
bareMinerals describe the Must Have Eyes Silky Cream Eyeliner as being an ultra-soft liner with a water resistant formula which glides on super sleek and silky and gives exceptionally creamy wear which draws beautiful lines that last all day. The liner and brush come within a box set, and the liner itself is packaged within a glass jar with a sleek black plastic lid alongside the brush. The dual-ended brush features a very fine pointed tip which is perfect for the lining of the upper and lower lashline, or even for tightlining and the other head is a fantastically precise angled brush head which lends itself well for creating feline flicks.
The very creamy formula allows you to gently draw along the lashline, or create wings without dragging or pulling the delicate skin of the eyelids and the creaminess gives you a short amount of time to be able to blend or smudge the liner should you want to for a more edgy, lived in look to your liner. I personally love using slanted brushes for my liner as I feel that they do the hard work for you as you can literally just gently pull the brush along the lashline to line your eyes with very little effort. This liner has an amazingly intense pigmentation so you don’t have to keep going back over your line for a fully opaque line and I have the shade Rich Black which dries down to a satin-matte finish which I find to be very flattering.
I think the bareMinerals Must Have Eyes Silky Cream Eyeliner is a great deal as you get the liner as well as the high quality dual ended eyeliner brush, and bareMinerals brushes tend to be around the £17-£24 price tag so this set is such a good deal. I like to wear black liner whenever I want my liner to be intense, but I love brown liner for a more natural look and I’ll certainly be adding the Deep Brown shade to my collection as I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect brown cream liner. I really appreciate the great longevity of the cream liner and it doesn’t smudge or transfer during the day making it a real winner and I just hope bareMinerals will launch more shades as I’d love to experiment with some bolder coloured gel liners too.
