If you watch a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot of blogs, I’m pretty sure you’ll have come across the Farmacy brand. I always assumed that it was only available within the US until recently when I discovered that Cult Beauty now stock Farmacy which is very exciting news. If you’re new to the Farmacy brand, Farmacy use science to enhance the goodness that nature provides, with their products combining naturally derived ingredients which have been activated by their team of scientists, making Farmacy a synthesis of nature and science.
The whole Farmacy backstory is really interesting, with the two owners creating jobs and changing lives in Upstate New York by revitalising the rich farming community that had dwindled in the region. All of the brand’s products are cruelty free, as well as being free from parabens, formaldehyde and artificial colouring.
I haven’t ever tried any Farmacy products so I figured that the Farmacy Skin Saviour Set would be the perfect starter kit and introduction to the brand as it contains four generously sized products for £42 which is really great value when you compare ml for ml in the full size versions. The products included within the set are; Farmacy Honey Potion Antioxidant Hydration Mask 15 ml, Farmacy Honey Savior All-In-One Skin Repair Salve 10 g, Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm 15 ml and Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist & Setting Spray 68 ml.
All four products within the Farmacy Skin Saviour Kit are best-selling products and they are packaged so beautifully within a lovely little metal tray within the box. I’ve never seen products packaged within a tray inside a box before, but it really does make the set look special and unique, and I think it would make for a gorgeous gift for any skincare junkie. I’ve reused the tray for holding my evening skincare products on my bedside table and I think it’s a cute touch that it’s included within the set.
Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask
“An intensely moisturising combination of honey (a natural humectant used since ancient times), propolis (a healing antiseptic found in beehives) and amino acid-rich royal jelly, it enhances skin renewal for a younger appearance. This super hydrating mask with natural honey sugars is rich in amino acids and essential B vitamins. It gently warms and transforms into a rich cream as it’s massaged into the face, soothing and revitalising the skin. First cleanse and tone the skin then use the spatula to scoop the mask and spread a thick layer gently across the face from forehead to chin (avoiding direct contact with eye and lip areas). Massage for 1-2 minutes while it warms and transforms into a white cream. Leave on for 10-15 minutes then rinse off. Follow with your favourite Farmacy day or night treatment.”
The packaging is really nice with a weighty little jar and a real wood lid, and the mask has a very thick consistency which is yellow in colour and really does look like a ‘honey potion’ like the name suggests. To use the mask I use a little spatula to scoop it out onto the back of my hand and apply to my face. Due to the thick consistency, I find that you do use a fair amount per use but you could use it as a targeted treatment in smaller areas of the face. Once it’s on the face, it really does warm up as you massage it into the skin and get a little intense which worried me the first time as my skin is very sensitive but luckily it didn’t make my skin flare up after use. My skin did however look a little flushed but that’s a regular occurrence for my skin anyway. After using this mask it really does leave my skin looking more radiant, and definitely more hydrated too.
Farmacy Firming Night Balm
“Reinforcing the skin’s natural moisture content, this balm aids firmness and tone while helping to restore elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Use nightly on clean skin. First, warm a small amount between palms before lightly applying onto skin. Blend with upward and outward motions.”
I was really intrigued by this balm as it’s described as being a mini-facial to firm and tone while you sleep, and I’m not sure any skincare product can do that in reality. Don’t let the ‘balm’ within the name put you off, as I don’t think it does the product justice as in my opinion it’s more lightweight than a typical balm which turns into an oil-gel on contact to the skin which you massage into the skin until fully absorbed. It is very rich so my skin loves it, but oilier skin types may found the formula to be too rich but my skin relishes how moisturising and softening it is and I look forward to my evening skincare routine so I can use this balm.
Farmacy Honey Saviour All In One Skin Repair Salve
“A soothing and healing multi-purpose salve that targets extra-dry skin, calms irritations and helps treat minor abrasions caused by dry, cracked skin. This soothing salve is rich in natural honey sugars, amino acids and B vitamins from royal jelly that encourage skin renewal and healing. It contains a unique combination of natural oils and waxes to calm irritations and moisturise the skin. Apply a small amount to clean skin, massage in until fully absorbed. Use daily or as needed for targeted care.”
This is a thick balm which I’ve been using a lipbalm at night, or as a cuticle balm as I know I can leave it on to work its magic whilst I sleep as the formula is intensive. I like that it’s so versatile as you could use it anywhere that requires extra moisturisation such as cracked heels, dry patches or irritations and you know it’s not going to exacerbate any skin conditions as the ingredients are so natural and high quality. I bet this balm would work wonders if you had sunburn as it is so soothing and gentle too.
Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist and Setting Spray
“This dual-action invigorating essence helps replenish radiance and moisture, while also setting makeup. It protects and soothes the skin, provides an overall sense of wellbeing and freshens makeup on contact. Renew daylong as desired with this vitalising and energising mist. Brighten up your morning by applying either before or after moisturizing and to set makeup. Retain that refreshing feeling by reapplying throughout the day to rejuvenate your makeup and seal in freshness. To harvest its many benefits, hold the nozzle about eight inches from the skin and gently spray across the face. Start at the forehead and work down to the chin.”
I have to admit the green colour of this mist is a little unappealing to me, but the colour is due to the Horsetail Juice, Kiwi fruit extract and Echinacea Purpurea which gives the mist its green tint, and they keep it as natural as possible without any artificial colouring. I love using facial mists, and use them throughout the day; sometimes multiple different formulas depending on whether I’m wearing makeup or not. This mist has a super refreshing mint scent which I’ve been loving on the warmer days we’ve been experiencing as it’s such a fresh and clean scent. I prefer to use it in the morning after I’ve applied my serum and moisturiser before I apply my makeup primer to add moisture into the skin without leaving any residue behind.
Overall I really love all four items within the Farmacy Skin Saviour Kit with my favourite being the Honey Potion Mask, and I’d love to explore more from the brand now I know that Cult Beauty stock Farmacy products. I’d really like to know if you’ve tried any of their products before and if you have any specific recommendations for what I need to try next. Please let me know in the comments below..
