Bourjois foundation shades are really limited, and I’d never been able to find a shade that is light enough for my skin tone. I last tried their foundations about three years ago, but so many pale skinned bloggers rave about how shade ’51’ is their perfect shade so I decided to purchase the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation.
I assumed that maybe Bourjois had changed their foundation shades, and the shade that was once too orange for me, would now be the “one”. I love the new packaging of the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation, as the old one looked quite dark and dreary compared to the Healthy Mix Serum edition. One pump dispenses the perfect amount for a light application. It claims to last upto 16 hours, and that it gives a healthy glow and flawless complexion.
Unfortunately, shade 51 is just too orange for me, this is supposedly “Light Vanilla”?!?. Just look how orange the swatch looks on the back of my hand? Yes, excessive blending eventually makes it look OK.. but I’m not willing to sit there blending away for hours just so I don’t look orange. I’m so gutted as the foundation is really lovely, and leaves my skin looking really dewy and… healthy.

16 hour wear is a huge exaggeration, as I’ve found it to last nearer 7 which is usually the maximum time I like to wear my skin base products. I do have a couple of white foundations which I could use to whiten it a bit but it’s a lot of hassle to have to do every morning to look ‘human’.
Surprisingly, Bourjois offer eight different shades for this foundation; Light Vanilla, Vanilla, Light Beige, Beige, Dark Beige, Light Bronze, Bronze and Dark Bronze. I’m pretty sure there’d be a perfect match for those with darker skin tones. The hunt continues for my perfect foundation, which is pale enough for polar bears and does not cling to dry patches… that’s if it even exists?!
