When I saw all of the blog posts offering a sneak peak at the future collections, MAC had to offer.. there was one product I instantly fell in love with, and had to have. The Pro Longwear Paint Pot in the shade, Eclair. Yes, I had to have it. Firstly, I am a huge lover of the MAC Paint Pot’s already as they’re such a staple in my everyday makeup routine. I use them as eyeshadow and eyeliner bases, as an eyeliner… they just have many uses. The MAC Baking Beauties collection included five different Pro Longwear Paint Pot‘s; Fancy frosting (Frosted White), Let’s Skate (Pale Pink with Pearl), Mooncake (Warm Beige), Eclair (Light Chocolate with Gold Pearl) and Dangerous Cuvee (Frosted Cool Grey).
I ended up purchasing both the MAC Baking Beauties shades in Eclair, and Let’s Skate Pro Longwear Paint Pots. I chose Let’s Skate, as a certain enabler aka Danielle (of Miss Sunshine & Sparkle) couldn’t stop gushing about how beautiful it was, then I saw Fleur and Louise mention their love for it in their YouTube videos…. and well. I wanted to see what the hype was about to be quite honest.
In the glass jar, Eclair looks like a rich chocolate colour.. not particularly special. However when swatched..(this is just one swipe of the finger) the shade is beautiful. At the very top of the swatch, you can see the minuscule multicoloured sparkle glistening. This sparkle is so subtle, and runs through the entire swatch however my camera only managed to pick it up at the very top.
Eclair is such a rich, extremely pigmented dark bronze shade. MAC describe it as being ‘Light Chocolate with Gold Pearl’ but I have to disagree. I find the shade to be too golden overall to be described as ‘chocolate’. There is gold sparkle within the shade, as well as green, blue, purple and silver from what I can see.
MAC Baking Beauties Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Eclair Swatches
I don’t have anything like this in my makeup collection, but I am so glad I own it. I can’t help but imagine all the possibilities imaginable with both my Urban Decay Naked Palette’s and this little beauty. I have green eyes, and this gorgeous shade really makes my eye colour a little bit more vivid. As it’s a Pro Longwear Paint Pot, it doesn’t budge whatsoever. When applying, it’s important to keep moving and blending as it sets within around 20 seconds. I couldn’t rub the swatch off, I had to use Bioderma to remove it which makes this Paint Pot even more fantastic.
If you see any of the MAC Baking Beauties collection still available in your local MAC stores, make sure you snap it up, because it truly is beautiful. Unfortunately everywhere online has sold out of Eclair.. but you can get hold of the other shades here at these links; Selfridges online and Debenhams online.
Did you indulge in any MAC Collection purchases this Spring? If you did, I’d love to know your favourite?
