NYC Expert Last Lip Color Blue Rose Review / Swatches

Regular readers of my blog may remember I featured another one of these NYC Expert Last Lip Color Lipsticks previously on my blog, back in April. However the images were lost when my blog got hacked, but you can still read about how much I loved ‘Traffic Jam’ nonetheless. This time I’m reviewing the incredible ‘Blue Rose’ shade.. just look at the pictures. On this occasion, I’m pretty sure I could just leave the photos without any explanation, and they’d suffice.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drugstore lipstick with a shade remotely similar to this one before.. and definitely not one for just £1.99. These NYC Expert Last Lip Color Lipsticks can be purchased at Superdrug, and they sell a vast amount of shades. I never see these on other blogs, which surprises me.. they’re so good.

NYC Blue Rose Lipstick packaging and showing the bullet

Blue Rose is more of a blue toned fuschia than a rose colour.. with the blue tone evident in both the lipstick bullet and swatch. The blue tone makes this lip colour your teeth’s best friend.. creating an illusion of perfect pearly whites.

The NYC Expert Last Lip Color’s are incredibly pigmented, with the swatch above showing just one swipe of the lipstick, you’d struggle to find an high end lipstick apply as smooth and pigmented as these. Traffic Jam took two applications for a perfect opaque finish, but Blue Rose looks perfectly opaque on just one.

My lips never feel dry during or after wearing this shade and it lasts for at least 4 hours without the need for touch up’s. Even after those 4 hours, the fading is even and gradual which I really love.

This lipstick formula, pigmentation and price is faultless.. seriously the best lip product I’ve tried from the drugstore. However.. there is just one tiny flaw, being the packaging. Once you’ve wound the lipstick down, there is at least a quarter of the bullet showing, which is a bit of a nightmare as I often catch it when replacing the lid.

Apart from that tiny design flaw, this is seriously perfection in a tube! I totally recommend these NYC Expert Last Lip Color’s to everyone and anyone – just buy one, you’ll love it!
