I never thought I’d be able to feature a Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Blush here on my blog, as Tarte isn’t available here in the UK. I would say that the two products I have longed for the most from the US would be the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Eyeshadow Palette and a Tarte Amazonian Clay blush.. in ANY shade, I just had to have one. Thanks to the beautiful Stacey of Expat Make-up Addict, I have managed to get my Magpie claws upon both.. a makeup lovers dream come true, and I’m eternally grateful.
There an amazing 16 different shades within the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush line, and I can honestly say I’d love any one of them. The shade I have is ‘Dollface’ which Tarte describe as a ‘light pink’. They retail for $26 each, and won an Allure Best of Beauty Award in 2011 just emphasising how very special they are. If you are a blush fiend, your collection is not complete until you have one of these blushes.. it’s official.
They are advertised as having 12 hours of wear, and are available in both matte and shimmer finishes as well as soft to vivid shades to flatter every skintone. My favourite shades from looking on blogs and looking at swatches would have to be Dollface, Exposed and Peaceful.
Just the packaging alone is lovely, with each of the compacts being colour coded to the shade they contain which is perfect for those with a few shades to be able to differentiate from. The pan is embossed with a lovely Amazon river detail which I really love. The embossment is quite deep so it won’t be brushed away within the first few applications like most decorated blushers.
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Dollface Review / Swatches
The shade is seriously beautiful.. the most perfect Barbie pink, girly shade that makes the skin look so healthy. The name of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush is so apt, as it does give that dollface flush which does look pretty against my porcelain skin. I don’t have a shade similar to this within my collection.
The shade of the blush in the pan is a little darker to how it translates onto the skin, with it being a lot lighter, however this blush builds up easily, so you’d be able to achieve a darker shade with more product on the brush. I prefer to wear my blush quite subtly.. this blush is highly pigmented, needing the softest touch of the brush to pick up adequate product for both cheeks so it’s going to last me forever.
I am simply infatuated with this incredible Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush, it’s worth all the hype and more. It’s pretty, it’s amazing quality and most importantly… seriously long lasting. It lasts from when I apply my makeup in the morning, until I remove my makeup in the evening with no fading whatsoever, even in hot temperatures, this blush does not budge one bit. Perfection in a pan, on so many levels.
If you can get your hands on the Tarte blushes, I urge you to indulge.. no other blusher will ever compare to the beauty and longevity of this beauty. Ever.
