Let me introduce you to the newest addition to the Benefit ‘tints’, that join Benetint, Posietint and Cha Cha Tint; Benefit Lollitint. After trying and loving both Benetint and Posietint, I was very excited about the Candy-Orchid newbie, especially seeing as the Pantone Colour of 2014 is Radiant Orchid.. Coincidence? I think not. Benefit’s Lollitint is the perfect tint to accompany 2014’s Pantone Colour, and one that’s bound to be very popular indeed.
Benefit Lollitint £24.50 contains 12.5ml of product and is packaged in packaging similar to that of a Models Own Nail Polish. The packaging is seriously stunning, with a beautiful, metallic pink chrome complete with candy swirls. It claims to be smudge proof, smooch proof and super long lasting from am to pm.. which is definitely the case for the Benetint’s I’ve tried thus far.
Benefit Lollitint Candy-Orchid Tinted Lip & Cheek Stain Review / Swatches
Within the lid is a thin narrow brush, that you’d expect to see from a nail polish. To apply Lollitint to the cheeks, Benefit recommend applying three brushstrokes upon the apples of your cheeks, followed by quick blending with your fingertips. I cannot emphasise ‘quick’ enough.. this tint is seriously potent in terms of staining power, so you have to move quickly or you’ll be left with fuschia warrior stripes.
I personally like to use a duo-fibre brush for blending that I’ve designated for cheek tints, as they do tend to stain the bristles. I’ve found Lollitint to be very pigmented so I prefer to use just two brushstrokes as I like a more subtle pop of colour.
To apply Lollitint to the lips, I just brush along my bottom lip and then use my little finger to blend it into my lips evenly. It leaves behind such a pretty, subtle pink tint which works with every eye makeup look. I’ve found that you can build up the colour too by layering another coat or two but it looks a little too neon against my skintone if I do more than one layer.
Compared to both Benetint and Posietint, Benefit Lollitint has quite an unique consistency in that it has a gel texture to it compared to the more liquid format of the others. I have to say I do prefer the gel consistency as it has a little more fluidity to it which allows for better blending. The shade is so lovely and will suit all skin tones, with its pretty purple – pink hue. It is the most perfect blush for Spring, to add a blossom-like flush to the cheeks whilst looking natural at the same time.
The staying power of Lollitint is amazing, with no fading whatsoever.. remaining perfectly intact for hours upon hours up to ten hours – although I fully envisage it to last way beyond ten hours. On the lips it’s also very long wearing, and fades gradually throughout the day/night with eating and drinking. I love how Lollitint can be worn on both the cheeks and lips for a matching, complimentary blush and lip colour.. it’s just so pretty.
You only need to use the smallest amount of Benefit Lollitint per use, so this 12.5ml bottle is going to last for such a long time. I cannot recommend Benefit Lollitint enough, it’s genuinely gorgeous and the perfect poolside partner should you be heading off on holiday this year for a waterproof makeup solution for cheeks and lips. Benefit never fail to impress with their new releases, and I’m totally smitten by Lollitint for being sweet by name, and sweet by nature.
