MAC Spiked Eye Brows Review / Swatches

14th January 2014

I’ve tried quite a lot of MAC products but never tried any of MAC’s brow products. A few months ago I noticed Claudia (Beauty and the Chic) was selling a MAC Eye Brows in the shade Spiked in her blog sale; which was pretty much brand new for a bargainous price which I couldn’t resist. I’d seen lots of mixed reviews on the MAC Eye Brows, mainly negative on how little product they contain, so they get used up quickly as well as being prone to breaking so I wasn’t expecting too much. MAC Spiked Eye Brows £13 is an automatic pencil which is self propelling as well as self sharpening and is available in six different shades on the MAC website. I currently use the Soap & Glory Archery brow pen and tint to do my brows on a day-to-day basis or use powder when I want more defined, dramatic brows.

The MAC Eye Brows is so easy to use and looks incredibly natural with Spiked being the most perfect match for my dark brows. I use the nib to draw short, soft brush like strokes throughout my brow to build up colour and definition before brushing a spoolie through.

When I use this brow pencil I don’t need to use any wax or gel to set my brows as the colour lasts all day which I love. I have naturally quite full brows so only need to use a little amount of product each time I use it so I imagine it’ll last me a fair amount of time, although if you have sparser brows the pencil nib is so soft that it would just disappear in no time. I’m really impressed with it, especially how great the colour match is and how natural it makes my brows look. I will certainly repurchase once it runs out.
