Manuka Doctor ApiRefine Radiance Serum

31st January 2014

Manuka Doctor is a new brand I’ve had the pleasure of trying recently. They’re a brand inspired by nature and are the “only skincare range to combine the potency of patented Purified Bee Venom with the healing benefits of Certified Manuka Honey for authentic skincare solutions that work”. The Manuka Doctor range is split up to four categories for different skincare concerns; ApiClear, ApiRefine, ApiNourish and ApiWellness. I’ve already reviewed the Manuka Doctor ApiRefine Lip Enhancer (review) and was really impressed so I was eager to try the Manuka Doctor ApiRefine Radiance Serum to see if it was equally effective.

Manuka Doctor claims that the serum helps to make the complexion look more even, skin more moisturised and luminous. I have naturally dry skin so when it comes to makeup and skincare I look for luminosity, radiance and ‘glow’ rather than a matte look, with matte products tending to only exacerbate my dry areas and highlight them.

Manuka Doctor ApiRefine Radiance Serum £17.99*

Manuka Doctor describe their Radiance Serum as having an immediate illuminating effect, for an instant complexion boost. The benefits include; Illuminating, improving imperfections, skin perfecting, nourishes and restores skin’s softness, refines appearance of wrinkles and brightens and smoothes the skins appearance. The Manuka Doctor ApiRefine Radiance Serum is packaged within a white cylindrical tube, with a pump to dispense the serum.

To use the serum, I dispense one pump and apply over the top of my makeup primer all over my face with my foundation brush. The serum is pearlised which is what gives the skin so much illuminance, but in a subtle, natural way rather than looking shimmery or obviously shiny.

It smells and feels lovely and really does have moisturising properties which feels like it’s giving my skin an extra layer of moisture. I then apply my foundation of choice with the brush I applied the serum with, as it helps my foundation apply that little bit easier, and gives my overall complexion an extra boost.

I can’t say I’ve noticed any long term benefits from using this Manuka Doctor Radiance Serum, but it definitely gives my skin radiance. It makes my skin look so much more healthier, especially on days where it looks a little dull and lacklustre – almost like a quick fix, which is something we all need within our collection.

During the Summer months I am going to love wearing this radiance serum with some concealer and no foundation, for a pretty radiant glow.. it perks my complexion up a treat. PLUS… the very beautiful Millie Manderson (Mackintosh) tweeted that this is a product she uses every single day within her skincare regime, and her skin always looks incredibly flawless.. now I know her secret for only £17.99!
