The Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick is described as a collagen boosting lipstick with plumping pre-peptides and hyaluronic acid to create the perfect, soft, smooth, dewy, plump, colour-filled pout. I already own one of the Soap & Glory Powdercoat Matte Lipsticks in the shade Blush Pink (review) which I love, so I had high hopes for the Collagen Boosting formula. There are six shades available in the Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick Collagen Boosting Lipstick line, all retailing at £9* each – the shade I own is Guavarama.
The main difference I noticed between the Collagen Boosting and Powdercoat Matte Lipstick is the finish of the tube, as the matte lipstick has a matte finished outer casing whereas this is very glossy. I love the packaging on the
Soap & Glory lipsticks as they’re so solid and weighty for a £9 lipstick, making them feel like they’re more high-end than they are.
Whatsmore the sticker on the base of the lipsticks are colour coded to represent the shade of the lipstick inside which is always helpful when you’re looking for a specific shade. No Soap & Glory product would be complete without Soap & Glory’s made-up technology terms, and this lipstick is no different with its “ULTIMELT lip shine and shaping technology” and “3-D PLUMP Peptide Complex”. The Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick Collagen Boosting Lipsticks contain shea butter, monoi butter and vitamin E.
Soap & Glory Guavarama Super-Colour Fabulipstick Collagen Boosting Lipstick – Swatched
I really like the attention to detail with the S&G logo embossed into the side of the bullet, which adds to the higher-end feel of the lipstick. Guavarama is such a pretty reddy pink shade that would be perfect for those who don’t feel confident enough to wear a
bright and bold red lip, as this pink toned red is a more subtle, wearable middle ground that can be sheered out.
When I first applied the lipstick to the back of my hand to test the formula and finish I was taken aback by how easily the lipstick glided across my skin, leaving behind such beautiful, glossy, pigmented colour. The formula is so forgiving and covers up a multitude of dry lip sins which I love as my lips seem to be permanently dry right now, no matter how many times a day I apply lipbalm.
I can’t say I’ve noticed any plumping effect whilst wearing this lipstick or after, so I’m not too sure I’m a believer on the whole ‘collagen boosting’ claims. However, what I will say is that the formula feels really hydrating on the lips and once I’ve removed the lipstick, my lips feel healthier for wearing it which I’ve never experienced before. I’ve loved every
Soap & Glory makeup product I’ve ever tried, and this lipstick is no exception – it’s so lovely and I’ve already purchased another shade.
