Fresh off the back of the release of the Enlight Collection, Sigma are to release yet another new collection on the 10th of February called the Sigma Born to Be Collection. Sigma describe their newest collection as bringing sophistication to the sultry, smokey eye with unexpected colour combinations with a tagline of “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”.
Similar to the Sigma Enlight Collection (review), the Born to Be Collection consists of a variety of products. There is a twelve shade eyeshadow palette called ‘Smoke Screen which contains mainly neutral shades with a bright turquoise blue. To accompany the Smoke Screen Palette, there are also three Sigma Extend Wear Eyeliner Pencils in the shades; Indigobird (royal blue), Atomic Number (rich chocolate brown) and My Cloud (powder blue).
There is one powder blush in the shade ‘Born To’ which is a dusty rose shade containing subtle sparkle and also a lip concealer; for those who have heavily pigmented lips that struggle to pull off paler lip shades. The Sigma Born to Be Collection also includes three lipglosses, which I’ve had the pleasure of using prior to the launch.
The three lipglosses from the Sigma Born to Be Collection that will be launching on Beauty Chamber (the approved UK Sigma Stockist) at £8.95* each are; Sheila, Eleven and Get Ready. When I first laid my eyes on them I was stunned by how vivid Sheila and Eleven were, with the more neutral option of Get Ready.
I really like the look of the whole Sigma Born to Be Collection, that it contains the more wearable neutrals as well as an injection of colour for when you’re feeling the need for colour. I loved the three glosses from the Enlight Collection and wear them nearly everyday so I was excited to try three more shades. The glosses are packaged within clear plastic tubes with matte lids, with the shade name written in holographic writing which really catches the light.
The three Lip Glosses have a brush applicator which I much prefer compared to a doe foot applicator as I find it so much easier to add a light layer of gloss over a lipstick without staining and ruining the gloss’s sponge applicator.
Sheila is the brightest, punchiest, fuchsia pink containing both pink and purple micro shimmer particles that glisten so beautifully. Sheila is very slightly more sheer compared to the other two, but can be built up easily with a generous application.
I don’t own them but I can imagine Sheila looking absolutely stunning layered over MAC Impassioned or MAC Girl About Town. Sheila makes my lips look so juicy, and plump and is such a pretty, wearable gloss, and a great addition to the Sigma Born To Be collection.
Eleven has such an amazing, creamy formula that applies more smoothly than Sheila does. Eleven in the tube looks quite vivid and bright in the tube, but when applied to the lips it looks a lot more wearable in that it’s a gorgeous milky, lavender shade again packed with pink and purple micro shimmer particles.
It’s the most amazing gloss I’ve ever seen, that looks so multi-dimensional on the lips. I’m loving trying it on different lip colours to see the effect.. when applied to my bare lips, the purple glitter particles look almost blue.
When I first saw Get Ready in the tube, it really didn’t appeal as it looks quite brown.. however on the lips the brown blends in with my natural lip colour, leaving my lips looking exceptionally glossy and sparkly due to being packed with gold shimmer particles.
Get Ready is the most shimmery from the trio, and leaves quite a lot of gold glitter on the lips once it’s worn off. I think Get Ready would look really pretty teamed with a tan, as the gold sparkle would really come to life. Due to how very sparkly Get Ready is, I wouldn’t personally wear this on a day-to-day basis, but would definitely wear it on a night out as it’s so incredible.
All swatches are done with just the product on the brush, without further applications – wow!
All three of the glosses are undoubtedly beautiful in their own right and I’ll definitely wear all three of the shades from the Sigma Born To Be collection. My favourite would have to be Eleven, as it’s just so incredibly stunning and unique to any other lipgloss shade and finish I’ve seen. I think £8.95 is such a good price for lip glosses of this quality, as they apply and wear so nicely on the lips. Even though all three of the glosses contain shimmer, they’re not at all gritty – they’re so smooth.
Just like the Enlight Glosses, Sheila, Eleven and Get Ready have a very faint vanilla scent/taste which is nice. They’re not sticky on the lips which is always the make or break factor for me when it comes to lipgloss, but they have enough stick to them that they last for 2-3 hours on the lips. I’m so pleased to have three more gorgeous Sigma Lip Glosses, they’re just so, so lovely.. if you’re a lipgloss lover, you need to get your hands on theses glosses.
