Urban Decay Mushroom 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil Review / Swatches

Urban Decay Mushroom is my absolute favourite Urban Decay eyeshadow, and I love the matching Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner Pencil in Mushroom too. Mushroom is described by Urban Decay as a ‘warm pale gray shimmer’ but it’s a much more multi-dimensional shade.. it looks grey in some lights, brown in others but mostly it’s a super pretty taupe. Seeing as I love the Mushroom Eyeshadow and Eyeliner so much, I knew I had to complete the Urban Decay Mushroom trilogy by buying the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil too. I already own five ‘travel size’ Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils, and I seriously love them.. they’re incredibly creamy, and a dream to blend.

I love the multi-colour packaging of the full size Shadow Pencil, it’s so pretty with its multi-coloured 24/7 design. The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils retail for £14 each, and contain a generous 2.8g of product which is amazing compared to their eyeliner pencils that contain only 1.2g and are £1 more at £15 each. Although there are only ten shades available within the shadow pencil range at present, and are over 40 shades of their eyeliners.

Urban Decay Mushroom 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil Review / Swatches

The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils are quite short, and chubby and are so easy to apply. The Urban Decay Mushroom pencil is extremely creamy and is perfectly opaque in just one swipe, which I love when applying directly to my eyelids as I want there to be as little tugging as possible.

The nib is quite thick too, however I’ve found that I can create a thin, defined line by using the edge of the nib, so you could use this shadow pencil for use as a cream eyeshadow and an eyeliner should you wish to.

To apply the Urban Decay Mushroom shadow pencil, I ‘draw’ all over my lid with it then quickly use a blending brush or even just my fingertip to blend it out slightly. The shadow dries very quickly, so it’s important to blend quickly as it sets down after around fifteen seconds, and then it’s impossible to blend/move as it stays put all day long.

I love wearing Mushroom on its own on my lids as it is so multi-dimensional, but it looks so pretty with powder shadows layered over the top too, especially golds or bronze shades in particular. The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils are my favourite shadow pencils to use by far, as they’re so creamy, smooth and pigmented and the colours are so rich.

I could quite happily wear this shadow pencil everyday if I had to, as it’s just gorgeous and amazingly long lasting with no creasing or fading – even washing my hands didn’t budge the swatch above so I imagine it’d even stay put when swimming.
