Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Katie – Review and Swatches

I have somewhat of an obsession when it comes to Illamasqua blushers; both powder and cream, their pigmentation is incredible and the shade range is impressive. The Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Katie is a shade I’ve been after for a long time, however it’s always seemingly out of stock on the Illamasqua website. What I particularly love about Illamasqua, is that they offer 10% off all purchases on their website for customers that have placed over three orders and free UK delivery. The Illamasqua Powder Blushers are £21.50 each, but with the loyalty discount they’re £19.35 which is great for an high-end blush.

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Katie - Review and Swatch
As soon as I saw swatches of Illamasqua Katie, I knew I had to own it. Described as a ‘soft candy pink’ with a matte finish, which I knew would look insanely pretty against my pale skintone. Each of the Illamasqua blushes contain 4.5g of product, and are packaged within the typical squared, Illamasqua compacts with a clear window.
Katie is particularly soft in texture, as you can see from the pan, there has been slight crumbling from just sitting in my ‘blusher drawer’, which might make it difficult to travel with, but the silky, soft texture is what makes this blush so beautiful upon the skin. It is a dream to blend, but is extremely pigmented so I only have to tap my brush gently into the powder. It’s also very long wearing, and never fades even if I don’t use my Urban Decay Setting Spray.
Katie is the most beautiful, blue-toned, milky pink Illamasqua Powder Blusher shade in the pan but it does swatch a little darker. It’s such an easy shade for me to wear, and goes with so many makeup looks too. It gives my cheeks such a pretty, petal-like pop of colour. Katie is the perfect shade for porcelain skintones like mine, and I absolutely love it.
