Soap & Glory’s Super Colour Fabulipsticks and Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks are some of my favourite drugstore lip products. The only Soap & Glory lip products I haven’t enjoyed, are their Super-Colour Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Glosses, as their plumping action really stung my lips. The newest addition to Soap & Glory’s lip product lineup are their Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquers £7* which are available in an impressive six shades.
They claim to leave a soft, filmy, glass-like shine over the lips with an ultra-moisturising formula. Soap & Glory describe the Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquers as containing Colorburst Crystals with Micronised Freshwater Pearl Powder, Aragonite Crystals, Protein Complex, Amino Acids and Moisturising Polysaccharides. Soap & Glory always use such complex words to describe the ingredients they use in their products, but whatever they do put into them.. it works.
Riot is a pretty intense, blue toned, statement red shade.. think rockabilly red. When I first swatched Riot on the back of my hand, I gasped at how incredible the pigmentation and opacity was. Just one swipe of the doe foot applicator across my skin, left a completely opaque, super shiny swatch
I’ve never found a glossy lip lacquer
which is as pigmented and opaque as this Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer.. it’s beyond words. Due to having a blue undertone, Riot is so flattering on the lips and will suit pretty much all skin tones and will make your teeth look whiter. It’s such a stunning red, which whenever I wear, I can’t help but feel feminine and glamorous.. it’s almost as if it’s MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick in Lip Lacquer form, and a lot more comfortable and forgiving on the lips.
Soap & Glory Riot Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer Review / Swatches
The Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer has a paddle-like sponge-tip applicator which is quite hard to use as it doesn’t offer the precision that is needed with a lip product as intensely pigmented as this. I would wholeheartedly recommend using a lip brush for application for maximum precision.
The only tiny flaw for me, with this lip lacquer, is when I pull the wand out from the tube to apply, it’s very messy and the lacquer is quite ‘stringy’ so it tends to drop onto the outside of the tube.. so before pulling the wand out completely, it’s important to wipe off all of the excess lacquer on the inside of the tube.
The formula is amazing, and applies effortlessly and smoothly. In only one swipe, it gives a perfectly opaque finish which wows me everytime I use it. On the lips, the lacquer feels comfortable with no stickiness.. it just feels glossy. Drinking can get a little messy with the lacquer transferring onto the glass, but amazingly enough, it doesn’t effect the appearance of the lip lacquer or make it patchy which again is amazing.
Wear time is seriously good, with the glossy finish wearing off gradually over the first 3-4 hours, leaving behind a more matte finish for at least another 5 hours.. yes that’s right – an 8 hour weartime! As you can probably tell I’m blown away by my first Sexy Mother Pucker
Lip Shine Lacquer, and seriously need to get my hands on the other shades as the formula is incredible and without a doubt, the best long lasting, lip colour I’ve ever tried.
