Barry M Coconut Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint

The Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints are a product that are seriously raved about on beauty blogs but I genuinely do not get the hype. I’ve tried eight different shades from the Gelly Hi-Shine range and I’ve been disappointed with every single one, however I must have lost my mind because I decided to try another shade; Barry M Coconut. I loved the idea of an white shade even though I thought the formula might be a little disappointing like the rest of the Gelly range I’d tried.

Barry M Coconut Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint

The Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints are £3.99 each and are available in 28 different shades. I am a massive fan of the standard Barry M Nail Paints.. they’re my favourite drugstore nail polish formula so I really had high hopes for the ‘Gelly’ formula but they’re just so disappointing. So many people love the formula so I feel like the only one that doesn’t, but I do like the rest of the Barry M range.

Barry M Coconut Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint Review / Swatches

Barry M Coconut Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint

Barry M Coconut is such a streaky polish to apply, even after three thin coats and a fourth coat ends up looking quite gloopy. I’ve tried applying it over a base coat to see if it fares any better but it’s still very streaky.

Coconut is an off white-cream shade which in theory would be really pretty, but because of the shade the streakiness is very noticeable and it just looks so ugly on my nails and the off white colour makes my nails look as if they’re stained, so I definitely won’t be using this shade again. I can’t even show you the monstrosity on my nails as I was too embarrassed to put my ugly, streaky and gloopy nails on my blog.

What do you think of the Barry M Gelly Polishes? Overhyped? Do you like the look of Barry M Coconut?
