If you saw my recent Fragrance Direct haul, you will have seen that I managed to buy three stunning Essie nail polishes from the Encrusted Treasures collection from 2013 for only £2.25 each. One of the Essie polishes that I bought was Essie On A Silver Platter which couldn’t be more fitting for a self confessed magpie. Essie On A Silver Platter is described as having holographic violet glitter pieces within an antique gold base, which I agree with however I’d describe the glitter pieces as being a royal blue rather than violet.
Essie On A Silver Platter Nail Polish Review / Swatches
There is no doubt that Essie On A Silver Platter is incredibly beautiful.. it sparkles every time I move my nails, with the holographic glitter catching the light. The Essie On a Silver Platter polish applies so evenly and is opaque in only one coat, however I added a further coat for a more intense effect.
Glitter polishes are renowned for being a nightmare to remove, but On A Silver Platter is the most difficult and stubborn glitter polish I’ve ever tried to remove. I do really love the prettiness of this polish, but the laborious removal has put me off ever applying this polish again.
The only way I can wear this nail polish is when I wear it with a peelable base coat underneath, as it means removal is so much easier and I don’t get through a whole bottle of nail polish remover trying to get it off my nails. I do find Essie polishes to be quite hit and miss, but this polish is so unlike anything else in my collection. I’ve had it for a couple of years now and it’s still as amazing as it was when I first purchased it.
I’d love to know if you’ve tried the Essie On a Silver Platter Nail Polish before?
