Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Review

When it comes to my skincare regime, I really enjoy applying an eye cream to help perk up the skin and moisturise the area before applying makeup, just so it sits better. I’ve tried lots of different eye creams, however I’ve never tried a specific eye serum so I was most intrigued by the new Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum £46*. I’ve never tried any skincare products from Estée Lauder, but their iconic Advanced Night Repair Serum has been on my skincare wishlist for such a long time so I was excited to try the Advanced Night Repair Serum.  Described as an innovative eye treatment that maximises the power of night to re-ignite the vital, youthful-looking light that can fade due to fatigue, pollution and age. It has been proven to significantly inhibit the appearance of visible damage including fine lines, crows’ feet, dark circles, puffiness, dryness and uneven texture.

I suffer from serious insomnia, and I’m rarely asleep before 3am so my eyes constantly look tired and give the game away that I’ve had very little sleep, so I’m always on the look out for products that can help me fake a good night’s sleep. The description and claims of the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum are seriously incredible with impressive statistics to back up their claims, so I had high hopes for the get go.

The packaging is quite sleek inside a brown plastic bottle, with a gold pump. Although considering the price tag, I have to admit I’d have expected a glass bottle but alas the packaging is functional, compact and lightweight. The directions recommend applying the serum in the morning and evening underneath your normal eye cream which I didn’t expect, as I assumed the serum would be in the place of an eye cream but you actually use them together.

The pump on the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum is great as it dispenses the exact amount of product you’d need, so there’s no unnecessary wastage and I like how hygienic a pump is rather than a pot or jar. The serum has almost a lotion-like consistency, that is very lightweight thus absorbing into the skin within seconds without leaving any residue… I then go ahead and apply my Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream over the top.

The first morning I woke up after using this serum, I could genuinely notice an improvement in how puffy my eyes looked, and within a couple more days I could see that the skin underneath my eyes looked brighter and the circles had definitely reduced ever so slightly. Ever since I introduced this serum into my skincare regime, I’ve not noticed any dryness whatsoever around my eyes, so I’ve found that my concealer applies more smoothly without clinging to dry patches.

Part of me really didn’t want to like the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum as it’s not the cheapest of eye products, however it’s definitely something I’d replace once it finishes. You only need the smallest amount of product; almost the size of a piece of rice for each eye, so I imagine this 15ml bottle will last for a good few months.

I love that this serum provides the delicate skin around my eyes with protection against pollution and damaging free radicals which in turn hopefully will help prevent wrinkles from forming. I really like how hydrating it is due to the hyaluronic acid, as it has improved the appearance of my skin and treated my dryness when no other eye cream or treatment has to this extent. Even if this bottle lasts for three months, that works out at around £15 a month which I think is amazing considering how noticeable the results are in such a short amount of time.
