The Soap & Glory The Fab Pore 2-in-1 Facial Mask and Peel £10* is a deep cleansing facial treatment that can be used once or twice a week to unclog pores, prevent spots, detox the skin and treat existing blemishes. The mask contains a Poreshrink Complex which consists of a blend of salicylic acid and lactic acids which fights spots by gently peeling away pore-clogging dead skin cells and reducing intra-follicular inflammation. It also contains fomes officinalis mushroom extracts to tighten the pores as well as kaolin microclay to soak up excess sebum secretion and smooth the skin’s surface.
I’m a massive Soap & Glory fan and I really love their products, however I really don’t like how complicated they make their product descriptions with their made up words. I think by over-complicating their descriptions, they’re in turn alienating customers that perhaps don’t understand so are too apprehensive to try them.
Like what is a Poreshrink R Complex – it’s impossible to shrink pores.. you can merely minimise their appearance by unclogging them. As the skincare queen Caroline Hirons would say ‘pores are not doors’. Sorry about going off on a tangent there…

The mask also contains ‘rice microbeads’ which are tiny scrubbing spheres that gently smooth, polish and exfoliate the skin. It can be used once or twice a week and Soap & Glory recommend massaging the treatment into the skin, and leaving it for five minutes for a quick fix or for fifteen minutes for a total detox.
The packaging of the Fab Pore 2-in-1 Facial Mask and Peel is really nice with the product packaged within a white 50ml jar with green writing which matches the pastel green colour of the mask. The mask has a thick consistency similar to that of a clay mask, and it contains small blue exfoliative beads. I really like the fresh scent of the mask.. it smells almost identical to toothpaste, and it tingles slightly once applied to the skin.
To use the Soap & Glory The Fab Pore 2-in-1 Facial Mask and Peel Boots as a mask, I apply quite a thick layer all over my face so that it can work its magic for 15 minutes before rinsing away. If you apply a thin layer, the mask begins to disappear as you work it into the skin, with the exfoliative beads buffing the skin’s surface.
The ‘peel’ description is slightly misleading as there isn’t any peeling action in involved which is slightly strange.. so much so, I scoured lots of other reviews to see if my pot was a one off but it looks like it doesn’t provide a peeling effect for anyone. Instead, the ‘peel’ description refers to it peeling away dead skin cells and grime within the pores.
After using the Soap & Glory The Fab Pore 2-in-1 Facial Mask and Peel my skin feels amazingly smooth thanks to the scrubbing spheres and any shine on my skin is instantly mattified (without drying my skin out) so this would be ideal for those with oily skin types. My pores are left so clear and my skin just looks a lot less congested without leaving my skin feeling stripped or dry and I love how invigorating the tingling sensation is.
