Bourjois Pamplemousse Rouge Edition 12 Hours Lipstick Review / Swatches

Bourjois first released their Rouge Edition Lipsticks, early last year in a total of eighteen shades. Due to the popularity of the original Rouge Edition Lipstick formula, Bourjois have recently released a new range of six long wearing Rouge Edition 12 Hour Lipsticks. Bourjois describe their new Rouge Edition 12 Hour Lipsticks as having a creamy texture that contains shea butter and colour-fixing silk powders to leave the lips feeling soft and velvety with a semi-matte finish. One of the new six shades is Bourjois Pamplemousse, which is a shade that Bourjois discontinued back in 2007.

Swatch of the Pamplemousse lipstick shade

For the last seven years, Bourjois have been inundated with requests to bring the much-loved shade back, and amazingly they listened and here it is in the new Rouge Edition 12 Hour formula. I never owned Pamplemousse the first time it was released, so I didn’t have anything to compare the new formulated one to.

Pamplemousse is the French word for Grapefruit, which I think is a great name for this shade as it really is the colour of the flesh of a pink grapefruit. Pamplemousse Frimousse has a frosted finish which I’m not a massive fan of, as I find frosted lipsticks to be rather unflattering but fortunately for me, the frostiness actually disappears within half an hour of application.

Just like the original Rouge Edition lipsticks, this Bourjois Pamplemousse lipstick has a lovely, creamy texture that glides across the lips comfortably. I was initially worried that the new long wearing formula would be quite drying on the lips, however I needn’t have worried as it’s not remotely drying. Pamplemousse Frimousse wears for around five hours on the lips which is impressive for such a creamy, velvety lipstick although I think the claim of 12 hour wear on this range is pretty far-fetched anyway. After loving the application, pigmentation and longevity of Bourjois Pamplemousse Frimousse, I’m now planning on adding the shades Rose Vanity and Beige Shooting to my collection, sometime soon.

You can purchase the new Bourjois Rouge Edition 12 Hour Lipsticks exclusively from Feelunique for £7.99 each.
