Givenchy Dahlia Divin Eau de Parfum Review + Giveaway

The newest fragrance to be released by Givenchy is Dahlia Divin which made its debut in September and is a sequel to Givenchy’s Dahlia Noir which was launched back in 2011. Givenchy Dahlia Divin 50ml £64* contains notes of the golden Mirabelle Plum, which are entwined with the aroma of a bouquet of white flowers that are highlighted with Jasmine. The base notes include woody and rich Sandalwood, Vetiver and Patchouli to create a truly striking fragrance.

The bottle is really beautiful and I think it has almost a Chanel look to it, with its chunky square glass bottle, gold metal ribboned neck and wide white lid. I’ve not seen a Givenchy fragrance like this one before and it looks a lot more luxurious than their other fragrance bottles. It feels so weighty in the hand, and it looks stunning on my dressing table with its golden hues.

Givenchy Dahlia Divin is the perfect fragrance for winter with its sensual warm and woody notes, and it really reminds me of a warmer, less sweet version of Giorgio Armani’s Si fragrance, making it a lot more pleasant as it’s not as overpowering as Si.

There’s no doubt that Givenchy’s Dahlia Divin is a strong, sexy scent, but what I particularly love is that it’s sillage isn’t too heavy that it makes people feel uncomfortable or that it fills the whole room that you’re in unlike my favourite Thierry Mugler Alien. It’s strong in that it only needs a couple of sprays at the most, and will last for at least eight hours on the skin with gradual fading.

The inclusion of ‘Dahlia’ within the title suggested that Givenchy Dahlia Divin would be quite a floral fragrance, however I’d describe it as being more woody than it is floral as the base notes are a lot more prevalent over the white flowers and jasmine.

When first spritzed upon the skin, the Mirabelle Plum is quite distinctive and sweet, but it dries down to a much warmer, richer scent with the initial sweetness subsiding. It’s such a beautiful, statement fragrance and every time I wear it, I’m complimented and asked what it is. I think this would make a stunning gift for any female over the age of 20, and if you’re looking for a new fragrance, I’d really recommend trying this when you see it instore as it’s seriously stunning…
