I’m a massive fan of the Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoos, but I’m always jealous of the amazing collections that Maybelline launch over in the US and Canada that never reach UK shores. Luckily for us UK beauty obsessives, there are a few eBay sellers that allow us to purchase shades from the collection without having to travel 4,000 miles or having to pay stupidly inflated prices. My favourite eBay seller is Suntastic as they sell lots of products and shades that are US exclusives at reasonable prices, and I can fully vouch for them as a seller as I’ve been very happy with the service I’ve received with my many orders and let’s get on to the Maybelline Caramel Cool 24HR Color Tattoo.
Maybelline Caramel Cool 24HR Color Tattoo Review / Swatches
One of the Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo
collections I was desperate to get my hands on, was the ‘Dare to Go Nude’ Collection which was launched in 2013 which like the name suggests, consisted of pretty neutrals. The collection was limited edition and is no longer on sale, so I was thrilled to see that Suntastic were stocking the whole collection at just £5.95
each; at just £1.95 more than the UK retail price which is amazing.
I have bought the whole collection and I’ve already reviewed the shades Pure Nude
and Sleek & Spice here on my blog and today I’m featuring the shade Caramel Cool. When I looked at reviews online of Caramel Cool, it really didn’t appeal to me as it looked much too warm for my cool, pale skintone.. however I decided to just give it a try as I knew I’d end up kicking myself if it sold out.
In the jar, and the heavy swatch above, Caramel Cool is almost a burnt orange shade.. however if I apply a light layer, it looks much more muted and more bronze than orange which I much prefer. I do like how the warm, orangey tone contrasts against my green eyes and I’ve found Caramel Cool to be the perfect base for some of the shades within the equally warm-toned Naked 1 palette.
I think Caramel Cool is a shade that would flatter warm, yellow toned complexions more.. especially those with a medium-olive skintone. I do like this shade and I’m glad I bought it, but it’s just not as versatile as the rest of the shades within the Dare to Go Nude Collection
