Too Faced had such an amazing array of Christmas giftsets this year, and the one that really caught my eye is the Too Faced Melted Kisses Gift Set £22, which contains four shades of the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks. I’ve been dying to try the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks for some time now, so this giftset was the perfect oppurtunity to be able to try four shades in smaller tubes. The full size Melted Lipsticks are 12ml each, and these tubes are 5ml so this set is worth around £32.
The four shades included within the Too Faced Melted Kisses Gift Set are; Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Fuchsia and Melted Berry.. I really love the range of shades Too Faced chose for this set as it covers all bases
. I also love the packaging of the Melted Lipsticks as they’re packaged within colour coded squeezy, plastic tubes with a sponge tip applicator on the end that the lipstick seeps through with gentle squeezing.
I was worried that the sponge tip applicator would make application rather messy as it’s not particularly precise, but it’s actually really good at applying the lipstick evenly and smoothly and you can use the edge of the applicator to get a crisp line.
Too Faced Melted Kisses Gift Set Review / Swatches
: This is a medium brown nude which really doesn’t suit my skintone sadly.. it almost looks beige on my lips
which isn’t very flattering as it really washes me out. This has really opaque coverage in just one layer that doesn’t settle in fine lines.
Melted Peony: I have so much love for this shade.. it’s a gorgeous medium, neutral pink which works as a pretty nude on my skintone and it goes with practically any eye makeup look too, so I’m going to get a lot of wear out of it. Peony is another opaque shade, with amazing pigmentation in just one layer.
Melted Fuchsia: This shade is a little less opaque, but it’s still very pigmented and actually stains the lips so it’s important to be very precise as it stains so quickly. I love that you can apply a lighter layer of Fuchsia for a ‘bitten’ effect, or you can layer it up for a more intense and opaque finish. This is a super bright shade, but because it’s not super opaque, I find it to be a little more wearable. This is so long wearing at around six to seven hours as once the lipstick has worn away, the stain lingers on.
Melted Berry: I’d describe this a dark blue-toned pink rather than a berry, but it’s really pretty all the same. Berry is similar to Fuchsia in that it’s not as opaque as Nude and Peony, but it can be built up for a fully opaque finish. This is another staining shade which can be quite difficult as Berry doesn’t dry down to a fully matte finish like the other three shades so it can transfer easily through eating and drinking.
I’m so happy that I’ve finally been able to try the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks as I’ve read so many rave reviews, and I really can see why they’re so hyped. They all apply so evenly, and Nude, Peony and Fuchsia apply as a lacquer type gloss, and dry down to a matte finish within around fifteen minutes.
Even though they’re matte, they’re not remotely drying or uncomfortable whereas Berry is more of a lacquer gloss as it stays shiny on the lips
. I am so impressed with the formula of these lipsticks and I really want to get my hands on the new shades Too Faced have just launched as they look so pretty.
