I love everything I’ve ever tried from Dermalogica, and my newest product to my stash; the Dermalogica Skin Resurfacing Cleanser £33.65* is no different. Firstly I love the packaging.. I think all cleansers should come with a pump as it’s just so much more convenient, especially when in the shower as you don’t want to have to mess around with lids or pots. My skin is very dry, and during the winter it’s plagued with unsightly dry patches which make foundation application a nightmare, so I like using chemical exfoliators within my skincare regime to keep my skin’s surface as smooth as possible.
The Dermalogica Skin Resurfacing Cleanser is said to be suitable for those with mature, prematurely aging or dry skin and is supposedly so effective that it claims to give superior softness and ultra-clean skin from one use.. which I was pretty sceptical about, but I was instantly impressed from the very first try.
This is a dual action exfoliating cleanser, with an highly-active Lactic Acid concentrate which helps to retexturize the skin by removing dulling skin surface debris and help accelerate skin cell turnover. The cleanser also contains antioxidant vitamin E which conditions and enhances softness whilst fortifying the skin’s natural moisture barrier, with alpha hydroxy acid exfoliating the skin’s surface to leave a smoother, polished surface and helps to brighten and hydrate.
Dermalogica Skin Resurfacing Cleanser Review
To use the Dermalogica Skin Resurfacing Cleanser, I simply dispense two to three pumps into my palm and massage into my damp face and neck for around half a minute with light upward strokes. The consistency is like a thick, cream with a little going a long way and there’s no obvious scent and it contains no artificial fragrance or colour.
After massaging the cleanser into my skin, avoiding the eye area, I use a hot flannel to remove any remnants of cleanser to reveal instantly better skin. Immediately after using this cleanser, my skin feels incredibly smooth with any dry patches being dramatically reduced.
I was initially worried that this active cleanser would be a little too harsh for my sensitive skin, but I’ve not experienced any burning, tingling or stinging which has really impressed me but I make sure I only use it twice a week as I honestly don’t think I need to use it any more frequently as it’s so effective.
Not only have I noticed an improvement in the texture of my skin, I’ve also seen an improvement in how clear my skin is with a considerable reduction in how congested my skin is with less frequent breakouts and blackheads. It really doesn’t disappoint and leaves my skin feeling incredibly clean, without feeling stripped or dry which is amazing for a product that contains so many active ingredients.
If you have dry, aging or congested skin.. I’d really recommend giving this Dermalogica Skin Resurfacing Cleanser a try, as I’m just so impressed and this 150ml bottle is going to last for such a long time – I guess around four months, which is such good value especially when you consider how effective it is too.
