JewelCandle Sweetheart Edition Candle

I’m a massive candle addict and there isn’t an evening that goes by where I haven’t burnt at least once candle. As a candle obsessive, what could be better than a candle that contains a surprise piece of jewellery? JewelCandle is a candle brand that hides both rings and earrings in their candles depending on which candle you purchase. They offer a selection of different types of candle, and for Valentine’s Day they’ve created a JewelCandle Sweetheart Edition Candle which is available in both a Ring Candle or a Earring Candle. Each of the Sweetheart Edition candles, contain a ring or pair of earrings valued between £10 and £250 and they cost just £14.95 each.

I chose the Earrings Candle*, and it really would make for a great Valentines present as it’s so beautifully presented in a cellophane wrapper with a straw bow holding the JewelCandle tag. I was unsure what the scent was going to be, as JewelCandle describe it as being simply ‘light and romantic’, but it’s a pretty floral scent that reminds me of a bouquet of flowers which is very apt for Valentine’s Day. The candle itself is made from red wax in the shape of a love heart that needs to be placed on a heatproof dish before lighting.

I think the sentiment behind this candle for Valentine’s Day is really lovely, as you could light it at the beginning of your Valentine’s Day meal and hopefully by the end of the meal you’d be able to fish your ring or earrings from the candle as an extra gift in addition to the beautiful candle. The candle has a burn time of 10 hours, which isn’t particularly long but I think it’s still good value for the price considering you’re getting a piece of sterling silver jewellery valued between £10 and £250.

Once lit, the JewelCandle Sweetheart Edition Candle gives off a lovely red glow which I think would create a really romantic atmosphere. It took around three hours before I was able to retrieve the foil parcel with a pair of tweezers which was a pretty messy process as the foil was covered in melted wax so I left the wax to harden on a piece of kitchen roll for an hour so I could pick off the wax. Inside the foil square, there was a small plastic bag holding the earrings which protects them from the wax.

The earrings are got inside my JewelCandle Sweetheart Edition Candle are lilac metallic imitation pearls on sterling silver posts. I think they’re quite pretty, but I’d imagine these are the £10 earrings.

I’ve given these to my Mum as I’m not personally a fan of pearls but she really likes them. I love the JewelCandle concept so much, as it’s really exciting watching the candle burn down with the anticipation to see your earrings/ring depending on which you purchase. Not only do you get a piece of jewellery, but the candles are of impressive quality too so they really are worth the money and I think they’re such a cute and thoughtful gift idea this Valentine’s Day or even for Mother’s Day as it’s like two gifts in one with the candle and surprise piece of jewellery.

The JewelCandle team have given me a promotional code so you can get 10% off your order. The code is ‘missmakeupmagpie10‘. If you make a purchase, I’d love to know what you go for 🙂
