MAC Rebel Lipstick is a shade I’ve lusted after for such a long time, but I’ve never purchased it as I was worried it would be a little too vampy for my skintone. However, I was very lucky as back in December, I won a giveaway on the lovely Alex’s blog and part of the prize was MAC Rebel Lipstick as part of the MAC Limited Edition Heirloom Collection which made me very happy as the lipsticks sold out so quickly online, and I was gutted I’d missed out on them. The packaging is simply stunning, with the casing being a glossy black peppered with different sized silver glitter particles to give it a slight texture but it’s just so pretty and very fitting for a festive MAC collection.
Rebel has a satin finish which I love, as I find them to be comfortable yet longlasting which is perfect for a statement shade like this. In the bullet, Rebel does look quite intimidating as it looks almost purple but on the lips it’s a lot less scary. MAC Rebel is a cool toned berry with pink undertones, and can be worn two ways; when worn quite sheerly it looks very pink, but when applied generously all over the lips it’s more berry toned.
I really like how versatile this MAC lipstick shade is, as you could even just dab the lipstick on the lips and use your finger to blend it out for a subtle berry stain. My favourite way to wear Rebel, is quite sheerly for a more pink shade but I love that I can build it up for a more intense effect whenever I’m feeling more daring. There’s so much hype around Rebel, and now I own it myself I definitely understand why it’s so popular as it’s a beautiful shade, and has an impressive 6-7 hour wear time which makes me love it even more.
