Ray-Ban 3386 Review | Sunglasses Shop

6th January 2015

Yes we’re in January, and Summer seems all but a distant memory but sunglasses are something I enjoy wearing all year round especially during the winter when the sun is particularly low in the sky. The Sunglasses Shop is an amazing sunglasses retailer, offering over 100 designer brands with free delivery and returns. In addition to standard sunglasses frames, Sunglasses Shop also sell prescription sunglasses and goggles, as well as eyewear for children. In all honesty, I had no idea that the Sunglasses Shop stocked so many high-end brands such as; Chanel, Dior, Ray-Ban, Tom Ford and Burberry to name but a few. I love that you’re able to search through their masses of styles by shape, colour, brand, lens colour, face shape or even hairstyle so you can find the most flattering set of frames possible. When you think of Ray-Ban, you automatically think of Wayfarers or Aviators but I don’t think either style suits my face shape so by using the ‘square’ face shape tool in the sidebar I came across the Ray-Ban 3386 £108* and fell in love.

The Ray-Ban 3386 is available in eight different colour options, but I opted for the Silver frames as silver is much more flattering against my super pale, cool skintone and I own a lot of silver accessories so I knew they’d compliment eachother well. The Ray-Ban 3386 Silver come with grey lenses which I love, as they’re not as harsh as black lenses.

All of the Ray-Ban Sunglasses come inside a lovely, leatherette pouch which is stiff enough to help protect the glasses inside which is ideal for throwing inside my handbag. There is also a sizeable, grey, Ray-Ban branded lens cloth which clean and polishes the lenses an absolute treat without any smears.

The Ray-Ban 3386’s are described as being a modern update to the classic rounded aviators, with more rounded oval shaped lenses. The lenses on the 3386 are softer, in almost a teardrop shape that looks very flattering as it helps elongate the eye area which I’ve found to have a slimming effect on the face. I owned a pair of Ray-Ban Aviators previously but I didn’t like how flimsy the skinny arms felt, and they weren’t particularly comfortable so the arms on the 3386 really appealed.

The Ray-Ban 3386’s have thicker, black acetate arms which fit much more comfortably around the ears, and they just feel a lot more sturdy and special in my opinion. I really love that they have the same design as the Aviators with the double brow bar, but the Ray-Ban 3386 top bar is slightly curved rather than being poker straight on the 3025, which again is much more flattering if you have a rounder face shape like myself.

The Sunglasses Shop offer the Ray-Ban 3386 in both a medium and large lens size, but I opted for the medium size as I felt the large were just too big and I’m so pleased with the medium size as you can still see my eyebrows above the top of the frames which is exactly what I look for in sunglasses.

I really like how comfortable these glasses feel, and how they chic they look and they go with everything, and I’m already eyeing up the matte gunmetal style for my next pair as I love these so much.

If you are lusting after your very own pair of Ray-Ban’s, the Sunglasses Shop have a pretty amazing sunglasses sale with a massive selection of brands and frames on offer. They have quite a few different Ray-Ban frames, including their stunning pastel Wayfarers which couldn’t be any more Spring/Summer appropriate. My favourite sale pick has to be these gorgeous Tortoiseshell Wayfarers which are reduced from £165 to just £73 which is incredible, I think you’ll agree?
