One of my resolutions for the new year was to take better care of my nails as I don’t look after them as much as I should and they tend to break and peel as soon as they reach a certain length. I have started using my OPI Nail Envy once again as I found it to be really effective last year and I just got lazy and stopped using it, and I’ve also been using the Emjoi Micro Nail Electric Nail Polisher £38.

The Micro Nail is an handheld electric polisher which buffs, smooths and shines the nails in seconds, leaving the nails in the ideal condition before applying nail polish. The shiny and smooth finish given by the Micro Nail is said to last for two weeks which is really impressive.

Alongside the device itself, the box includes 2 x AA batteries, two Micro Nail Smooth Rollers, two Micro Nail Shine Rollers as well as a small white drawstring pouch to store the rollers. The Emjoi Micro Nail is a cute, pastel pink colour with a lid which slides off and the base can be removed to insert the batteries. It takes literally one second to change the rollers, and to turn it on you simply flick the silver switch, which starts spinning your chosen roller.

Emjoi Micro Nail Electric Nail Polisher Review

The Emjoi Micro Nail Electric Nail Polisher* claims to rotate the roller an amazing 1,800 times a minute to smooth away any ridges or imperfections on the nail instantly. The directions are very simple and easy to follow.. you just need to ensure your nails are clean from any polish or oils, so I use a cotton pad soaked with nail polish remover just to make sure my nails are as clean as possible for the best results.
Then to use the Emjoi Micro Nail Electric Nail Polisher you just move the roller around the base of the nail and then across the length in one sweep, ensuring you don’t hold the roller on the nail for any longer than four seconds as the friction will cause a burning sensation which isn’t pleasant, let me tell you.
The key is to just keep moving the roller up and down onto the nail so it doesn’t stay in one place for too long. The roller creates some fine white dust which is just the remnants of any ridges in the nail. After using the Micro Smooth Roller, my nails are left feeling amazingly smooth.. so, so much smoother than they have ever been when using a four sided nail buffer – the difference is incredible.
You could choose to stop after using the Micro Smooth Roller if you wanted to as it buffs your nails perfectly, but you can then choose to use the Micro Shine Roller afterwards which leaves the nails with a super shiny glossy finish that looks like I’m wearing a clear glossy nail polish.
It takes me no more than three minutes to use both rollers within the Emjoi Micro Nail Electric Nail Polisher across all ten fingers which is so very quick, and the results are fantastic. Not only do my nails look and feel nicer, it also helps my nail polish to apply a lot more smoothly with less streaking as the surface of my nails is in such good condition.
£39.99 isn’t cheap, but if you go to the salon and have regular manicures, you’ll know it costs a minimum of £25 each time but the Emjoi Micro Nail Electric Nail Polisher gives the same professional results from the comfort of your own home, and you can purchase replacement rollers for it so it really is an investment, and one I’d really recommend if like me, you’re determined to improve the condition of your nails this year.
