Hugo Boss is one of mine and my other half’s favourite fragrance brands, and I have five Hugo Boss fragrances in my collection, and he has four. I’m yet to find a Hugo Boss fragrance that I don’t love, as their scents are all so lovely. If you were choosing a fragrance for a man or woman and you didn’t know what notes they tend to prefer, I’d always recommend choosing a Hugo Boss fragrance as there’s nothing not to love.. and I have two gorgeous Hugo Boss fragrances that would make perfect gifts for her and for him.
I was recently very kindly sent two Hugo Boss fragrances Hugo Boss Hugo Woman 30ml £35* and Hugo Boss Hugo Man 40ml £32* and I had to share them on my blog, as they’re both really lovely. As cheesy and cringe as it sounds, I really like wearing complimenting fragrances with Rob and these compliment each other amazingly as they’re both fruity and floral.
Hugo Boss Hugo Woman is the newest Hugo Boss fragrance which launched on the 2nd of February, and is available in 30ml, 50ml and 75ml bottles at The Fragrance Shop. Described as a fruity, floral fragrance with an unconventional boyish twist combining unexpected naturals and pioneering molecules.
Hugo Woman opens with top notes of boysenberry and sparkling Italian mandarin and Himalayan red grass, middle notes of jasmine sambac, black plum and Indian black tea, and base notes of sandalwood, cedar and amber. When I read the notes for Hugo Woman, I had no idea what to expect as the opening and middle notes sounded like the notes for a male fragrance.
This is definitely a fruity floral scent, but I can’t detect a single note once I’m wearing it. I think this would be the perfect fragrance for day to day wear as it’s not too overpowering but I would describe it as being a youthful fragrance, perhaps for those in their teens and twenties as it has almost a ‘sporty’ vibe to it. I love the circular bottle, with red band around the outside as it’s simplistic but sleek. If you love fruity, aquatic scents then I’d definitely spritz this next time you’re passing the Fragrance Shop as I think you’ll love it.
Hugo Boss Hugo Man is available in 40ml, 75ml and 125ml bottles and is described as an aromatic green fragrance, with top notes of lavender, green apple, mint, grapefruit and basil, middle notes of carnation, sage, geranium and jasmine and base notes of patchouli, fir and cedar. This is quite a strong scent in terms of sillage, with only one spritz needed. This is a real Boss classic that’d suit any age with its fresh, aromatic and spicy notes.
Rob describes this as an any occasion fragrance which can be worn day or night, for work or play. I personally love how Hugo Man smells the longer it’s on, and I love that I can still smell it when he comes home from a long day at work. I would describe this scent as being like the smell of trees after the rain.. very fresh and clean, and I think that because it would suit all ages, it would make a perfect gift for your boyfriend, husband, dad or even grandad.
