When I first saw the Essence Quick & Easy Sponge Nail Caring Oil, I assumed it was a nail polish remover pot. However looks can be deceiving, as it’s actually a pot containing a sponge soaked in almond oil and argan oil to moisture the nails and cuticles instead of removing your nail polish. I’ve never seen or heard of anything like this before so I was eager to give it a try. The sponge inside the pot has a hole in the middle like you’d see in a nail polish remover pot, and you insert your finger twist once and you’re done.

The sponge inside the pot is saturated with liquid, and when you pull your fingers out of the pot one at a time, they’re quite wet so I massage any residual oil into my cuticles so there’s no greasy residue left. The idea of a pot containing a sponge to moisturise the nails may sound gimmicky, but I think it’s a great idea when you’re short on time but you still want to care for your nails and I love the almond scent of the oil.
Essence Quick & Easy Sponge Nail Caring Oil Review
Essence Quick & Easy Sponge Nail Caring Oil £2
It’s definitely not a twist and go product like the instructions suggest, but even with massaging the oil it’s still a quick process and it leaves my cuticles looking and feeling nourished without feeling greasy or sticky. It’s only just over £2 but it lasts for a decent amount of time too. If you find it too much of a faff to use a cuticle oil which you need to brush on, this is such a better option as you literally just insert your finger, twist and then massage the oil into the skin and cuticles.
I’d love to know which is your favourite cuticle oil?
