Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact Review and Swatches
The Clarins Aquatic Treasures Collection is absolutely stunning, and I’ve already featured a selection of their products here. The star product from the entire collection has to be the Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact. Every Summer, Clarins release a beautiful bronzer as part of their collection and I think the Aquatic Treasures Collection’s bronzer is my favourite by far.
The Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact is £30, and is limited edition so if you’ve fallen head over heels for its charm, I suggest snapping one up very soon.
The packaging and design of the powder of the Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact is beautiful, with an intricate marine inspired design. The lid of the compact is a translucent bronze, with gold discs surrounding the ‘C’ in the middle, which looks like a shell.
The powder has the shell like design in the centre just like the lid, with a coral design surrounding the outside of the powder.. the design is so stunning, that part of me never wanted to touch and disturb the pattern.
The pan of powder is surrounded by golden chrome which just adds to the luxury.. have you ever seen a bronzer as beautiful as this?! What makes the Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact so special is that it is divided into four quarters of varying shades of bronzer meaning that it will suit almost all skin tones which is music to my ears.
The first swatch photo shows a swatch of each section of the bronzer from the lightest shade to the darkest in a clockwise motion, with the two lightest shades first and the two darkest shades last.
These swatches are obviously much more concentrated for the purpose of the photo, than you’d see when using the powder but I wanted to show the variation in shade and tone from section to section. The second photo shows a concentrated swatch of all four shades blended together.
Due to the size of the bronzer, it is possible to use only one section should you wish to which I love as I can concentrate my brush within the lightest shade, or mix the two lightest depending on the look I’m going for.
As a whole, the Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact is quite warm toned like you’d expect from a bronzer from a summer makeup collection. All four shades are matte which is amazing, as it’s so rare to find a good quality matte bronzer but these shades are completely matte and free from glitter or shimmer of any kind.
I like to use the three lightest shades with a fluffy brush like the Louise Young Blush Brush to warm up my complexion, and I like to use the darkest shade as a crease shadow as it makes for the perfect transition shade for almost any neutral makeup look. The texture of the bronzer is incredible.. it’s buttery and smooth, and blends beautifully into the skin, and even though the powder is very soft, it manages to stay put for at least six hours before fading.
It’s safe to say I’ve fallen head over heels in love with this bronzer…
