Neve Cosmetics have just launched their Pop Society Spring and Summer Collection, which consists of mineral eyeshadows, mineral blushes and lip crayons. The Neve Cosmetics Pop Society Collection is inspired by the 80’s, and as you can expect is full of bold and vibrant colours. If you’re new to Neve Cosmetics, they’re an Italian natural and vegan beauty brand with amazing yet affordable products. I’ve tried a few of their products so far, and I’ve been very impressed with everything I’ve tried so I was excited to try the new collection especially as I was an 80’s child.
I was very lucky enough to receive five products from the Neve Cosmetics Pop Society Collection, and I love that Neve Cosmetics have given the collection vibrant packaging to match the products themselves. This collection really is one for those who love bright colours when it comes to makeup..
Firstly I got two shades of the DueBaci Lip Pencils in Material and Power. The Neve Cosmetics DueBaci Lip Pencils are €8,90/£6.40* each and are dual-ended pencils with one end being a lipstick, and the other end being a lipliner.
The Lipstick and Lipliner are slightly contrasting in shade so they can be used together, or you can use them to create a gradient effect which is such an unique idea. The DueBaci Material Pencil is described as being a dark warm peach and a light pinky peach, and the DueBaci Power Pencil is described as being a strawberry red and a cold neon fuchsia.
Both pencils are incredibly creamy that it’s almost hard to believe that they’re a wooden pencil as they apply so smoothly and evenly just like a conventional lipstick bullet. I love that each of the pencils have colour coordinated packaging to match the shade of the pencil, and the gold lids which is very apt for an 80’s inspired collection.
The descriptions of the shades Neve Cosmetics give for both Material and Power are spot on, and they so pigmented. My photos really don’t do Power justice, as it’s a very neon pink.. it’s just amazing. I’ve found Material to have a satin finish, and Power is much more matte but both shades last for at least six hours and they leave behind a stain on the lips.
Next up in the Neve Cosmetics Pop Society Collection is the Neve Cosmetics Poster Mineral Blush €12,90/£9.27* which is described as being a brick pink with intense mauve shimmers, and can be used as also an eyeshadow or a lipstick according to the Neve Cosmetics website.
I have to be honest, this shade is a little too intense for my liking as a blush as I much prefer more subtle, matte blushes but it makes for a very beautiful eyeshadow. To use Poster as an eyeshadow, I apply MAC Painterly Paint Pot as a base and then use a flat eyeshadow brush to press the loose powder all over the lid and then clean up the edges with a fluffy blending brush. I think this shade would be perhaps better suited for Autumn and Winter as it’s almost a cranberry shade, but it’s stunning nonetheless.
Lastly in the Neve Cosmetics Pop Society Collection I got two of the Neve Cosmetics Mineral Eyeshadows in the shades Videogame and Fuseaux €7,90/£5.68*. Neve Cosmetics describe Videogame as a golden brown with bordeaux undertones, orange pixels and acid green reflects and Fuseaux as a warm aubergine duochrome with periwinkle lilac shimmers.
Both shades have a very, smooth and creamy consistency which I’ve never experienced with mineral eyeshadows before.. they feel as if they’re cream eyeshadows. Videogame and Fuseaux are so multi-dimensional and they change colour in different lights. Mineral Eyeshadows can be a little messy, but I like that the pots have a good quality sifter so you can tip out what you need without any wastage.
