If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen that I was extremely lucky to receive the whole collection of the Essence The Gel Nail Polish range, and I’ve been in nail polish heaven ever since. I’m having so much fun trying out all of the different shades and I am so incredibly impressed. I’d been trying to work out the best way to showcase the 46 shades here on my blog, and I’ve decided to feature them in groups by colour and today is the first post of the series, with the purple shades from the collection.
So for my Essence The Gel Nail Polish Collection – The Purples installment of the series, we have six shades in total which are; Serendipity, Whisper of Spring, Beautiful Lies, Indigo to Go, Wonderfuel and I ♥ My Blue Jeans. Each of the Essence The Gel Nail Polishes are just £1.60 which is absolutely incredible value for any nail polish, not to mention a gel formula nail polish range.
As I mentioned above, there are an amazing 46 shades to choose from in the range, and they are available to purchase from Wilko stores or the Wilko website. The Essence The Gel Nail Polishes claim to give a gel-like finish without the need for any curing lamps – you simply use the Essence The Gel Nail Polish Base Coat, followed by your shade of choice and then topped with the Essence The Gel Nail Polish Top Coat.
Serendipity: a grey toned lilac, with opacity in two coats.
Whisper of Spring: a pastel lilac, with opacity in one generous coat.
Beautiful Lies: a bright blue toned purple, with opacity in two coats.
Indigo to Go: a dark purple, which applies best with three thin coats as it’s still a little streaky after two.
Wonderfuel: a purple and blue duochrome metallic shade, which took three thin coats for full opacity.
I ♥ My Blue Jeans: a dark navy blue matte shade, which gives full opacity in one generous coat.
I am genuinely so impressed with the formula of these six shades. All six shades had the perfect consistency without being too thin or being too thick and gloopy. The brush on the polishes is a fantastic wide brush which makes application so quick and easy as you can do each nail in almost one single stroke thus reducing any potential streakiness.
Not only is the formula impressive, each coat dries quickly in less than three minutes. Once on the nails, they all wore very well with only tip wear visible after five days and I didn’t experience any chipping so they would have worn for longer than five days had I left them but I was dying to try more shades. I honestly cannot list one flaw with any of these six shades.. they’re so good, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them all.. I can’t wait to show you the next colour group!
