Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipsticks Review and Swatches

If you read my review of the LA Girl Glazed Lip Paints, you’ll know that Beauty Chamber now sell a range of US beauty treats which is very exciting indeed for UK beauty obsessives like myself. In addition the LA Girl Glazed Lip Paints, Beauty Chamber also stock a range of the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipsticks for just £5 each which is very reasonable as they’re $5.49 to buy in the US.

I have three of the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipsticks in the shades; Matte Passion, Matte Innocence and Matte Blissful and they’re all packaged within gold plastic casing just like the original Milani Color Statement Lipsticks.

Each of the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipsticks have quite a strong vanilla scent, so if you don’t like scented lip products, you wouldn’t like these lipsticks but I personally like the scent.

The formulation of these lipsticks is so creamy.. possibly the creamiest matte formula I’ve tried, and they really do glide across the lips with no pulling or tugging. The creaminess is said to be down to them containing grape seed extract, which stops them from being dry or chalky. I think the name’s a little misleading as I wouldn’t describe the lipsticks as being moisturising or being packed with moisture.

Even though the formula is very creamy, it does still cling to every patch of dry skin so I always use my e.l.f. Exfoliating Lip Treatment to prep my lips so ensure there’s no dry skin for the lipstick to cling to

Shade wise, Matte Passion is a bright and beautiful orange toned red which is such a summer appropriate shade. Matte Innocence is pretty much my exact lip colour and is a light peachy nude, and Matte Blissful is a bright, bubblegum lilac pink.

In all honesty, I really do struggle to pull Matte Blissful off as it doesn’t suit me which is gutting as it’s a stunning shade. The pigmentation of all three shades is fantastic and these swatches are just two swipes of each lipstick, and are almost completely opaque in only one swipe.

I think the formula of the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipsticks is amazing, and if you’re a matte lipstick fan, you really must check them out as they have the best matte formula I’ve tried.
