The Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector is a primer which is designed to be applied directly to the pores, for a pore minimising effect and is available in three shades; Invisible Bright, Invisible Light and Invisible Deep. I have the shade Invisible Light, which is currently on sale for £16 on the Cosme-De website when it normally retails for £20. The Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector contains just 15ml which is quite a small amount compared to other primers, but this isn’t an all over the face primer; it is just for pores so I’d imagine this tube would still last for a good few months with daily use.
The Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector is designed for all skin types, and claims to make the skin look smooth and virtually flawless with pores looking upto 50% smaller which is a pretty bold claim.
The Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector in Invisible Light is a pale beige colour which is similar to the Benefit POREfessional Primer, but it doesn’t impart any colour to the skin.. it blends in seamlessly. The consistency of this primer is a little slimey like POREfessional but the sliminess does disappear as soon as I’ve smoothed it into my skin as it becomes matte, once blended into the skin.
What makes this primer a little different than other pore minimising primers is that this one is sweat and humidity resistant, making it ideal for the Summer. To apply this primer, Clinique recommend using a finger dot motion blending over the pores before applying your foundation, but you can even use this primer on the top of your makeup for a blurring effect.
So how does it work?! Hopefully you can see the results for yourself in the above photo.. the top photo is without the primer, and the second is with just a pin-head sized amount blended into the skin. I think the results speak for themselves – the second photo shows all of the lines on the back of my hand to be blurred and filled in, and the skin looks incredibly smooth compared to the top photo.
The primer does exactly the same thing when blended over the pores on my face, and it really does an amazing job at minimising my pores without leaving my skin looking or feeling slimey. In all honesty, I never expected the Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector to be amazing but it really is and it’s definitely the best pore miniming primer I’ve used. I think this primer would be especially effective for those with oily skin due to its mattifying effect, and that it keeps my T-zone shine free all day.
