Freedom Makeup launched at the beginning of June, and I was very kindly sent a small selection of their products prior to their launch to try out and the selection included the Freedom Makeup Far Away Lipstick Collection. Now, if you read my blog on a regular basis, you’ll know I’m a pink and coral lip kinda girl so these shades are miles away from my comfort zone.
The Freedom Makeup Far Away Lipstick Collection consists of five shades which cost £1 each, or you can buy the whole Far Away Lipstick Collection of five for £4. The shades are pretty crazy as far as lipsticks go, and the names are all Star Wars theme which will definitely please Star Wars fans.
The Sith: This was the most disappointing shade from the collection, and was very patchy and hard to apply. In the bullet it looks like a shimmery navy but it applies as a sheer black with patchy navy shimmer. I wish this shade had better pigmentation and texture as the shade is so unique to anything I’ve ever seen before.
Storm-Trooper: Your eyes are not deceiving you.. this is a white lipstick. The formula of this shade is miles better than The Sith, and is quite creamy and pigmented. I would never wear this shade alone, but you could use it to mute brighter shades and make a bold lip shade slightly more pastel. Storm-Trooper has a glossy finish.
Far Away: This is such an incredible shade, and my favourite from the collection.. a bold, metallic purple with a satin finish. The pigmentation of this shade is fantastic and is opaque in only two swipes.
Space Luxe: Another incredibly pigmented shade.. this time a metallic yellow toned gold. I would never wear this shade personally, but if you’re daring enough, you’d love this gold.
Sky-Walker: This shade is a metallic silver/grey, with great pigmentation. Again I wouldn’t wear this one, but it could be worn lightly over other shades for a metallic finish.
If you like daring and crazy lip colours, then I’d recommend taking a look at the Freedom Makeup Far Away Lipstick Collection as it’s hard to find shades like these so affordably. If you don’t like bold shades like these, Freedom also have a huge range of more wearable shades too, again at just £1 each. I cannot comment on weartime of these shades as I just wouldn’t wear them out of the house, but I imagine Far Away, Space Luxe and Sky-Walker will be the longer wearing shades as they’re more pigmented and less glossy.
