Ever since I became a beauty blogger, two and a half years ago, I very rarely buy anything without scouring online for reviews first but I bought the Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot without looking for reviews after spotting it on offer on the Feel unique website.
I’ve had acne since I was 13 years old, and I was looking forward to my twenties as I assumed my ‘teenage acne’ would finally disappear, but I couldn’t be more wrong and I’m still suffering aged 28 which is seriously depressing, and it really effects my self confidence. Over the 15 years I’ve suffered from acne, I’ve tried endless blemish treatments and I’ve never found anything that makes a significant difference.
Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot £10.50
The Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot is described as having a fast acting formula which minimises blemishes and mark. The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid which helps to create an invisible and protective film on the surface of the skin, to protect the imperfection, whilst salicylic acid and LHA work to target the blemish with their antibacterial technology.
The Normaderm Hyaluspot is packaged within a slim tube, with a metal slanted applicator which Vichy recommend applying the gel directly from which I really do not recommend as it’s not particularly hygienic, and it’s much better to squeeze the gel onto your finger and then apply to your problem areas, to prevent bacteria from entering the tube.
The gel has a very subtle skincare scent.. it doesn’t smell medicinal like a typical blemish treatment and the gel is easy to massage into the skin. Once I’ve massaged the gel into my problem areas, it does take around five minutes for the tackiness to disappear but once it has, it really is invisible like its claims and I can apply foundation and concealer over the top without any issues at all.
I expected this treatment to burn my skin like salicylic acid based blemish treatments tend to do, but I’m really impressed by how gentle it is on the skin.. I can feel a very, very slight tingle but even then it’s barely noticeable.
Bold statement time, but this is the best spot treatment I’ve ever found. When I apply this gel to a blemish that’s just starting to surface, it somehow manages to stop the blemish from developing which I’ve never experienced with other spot treatments.
If I haven’t caught a blemish in time to stop it from rearing its ugly head, then it still helps to decrease the inflammation within an hour to two hours, reducing any pain at the same time and my favourite part is, it keeps my breakouts hydrated due to the hyaluronic acid, so I don’t have to worry about my blemishes becoming crusty and hard to conceal.
Occasionally it won’t be able to stop the odd blemish from occurring, but it definitely speeds the whole process up and minimises the scarring left behind. If you suffer from hormonal acne like myself, and have also struggled to find a product that works, I urge you to try this little gem as it really does work and you only need a tiny amount so this 15ml tube will genuinely last for such a long time – thank you Vichy!
