Antipodes is a brand I’ve heard so much about, but I hadn’t tried any of their products until I bought their Aura Manuka Honey Mask a few months ago from Feelunique. I am planning on doing a full review on the mask, but it was love at first use so I was excited to try more Antipodes products. If you don’t know, Antipodes is an amazing beauty brand which offers a range of certified organic and natural skincare products which contain New Zealand plant extracts and premium avocado oil.
All of the Antipodes Skincare products are created without compromise to the environment and all of their products are free from artificial colours and fragrances, synthetic fillers or silicon derived ingredients, petrochemicals, mineral oil, SLS and animal products (except honey and beeswax which comes from living bees) tand none of their products are tested on animals.
For the last couple of weeks, I have been trialing the Antipodes Skincare Hosanna H20 Intensive Skin-Plumping Serum £27.99 and the Antipodes Skincare Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream £26.99 and together, they really are an incredible skincare duo. Antipodes skincare products are available to purchase from Feelunique and Lookfantastic.
The Antipodes Hosanna H20 Intensive Skin Plumping Serum is a water charged and oil free bioactive serum which immediately quenches thirsty skin, and helps to intensively improve the skin’s appearance over time. The serum contains the revolutionary Vinanza Grape antioxidant which keeps the skin super-hydrated and protected from damage caused by environmental aggressors and pollutants. Plus Mamaku Black Fern helps faster cell renewal and is impressively scientifically shown to stimulate synthesis of collagen production in human skin cells by up to 72%*.
Even though this serum is designed to intensively hydrate the skin, it is suitable for all skin types even those with sensitive skin. The serum is packaged within a brown glass bottle, with a glass pipette which helps to dispense the perfect amount of product without any unnecessary wastage. The serum isn’t particularly attractive colour wise, as it’s a brown colour but luckily it doesn’t smell like it looks, and the colour disappears immediately upon contact with the skin and it absorbs instantly with very little effort.
This is definitely the most hydrating serum I’ve tried, and it really does give my skin an hydration boost with every application. If you have dry or dehydrated skin, this serum would be perfect as it leaves the skin feeling plump, hydrated and silky soft. I haven’t seen an improvement in my acne scarring like I do with the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate, but it certainly addresses all of my dehydration concerns.
The Antipodes Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream is a gentle, light and non-oily facial day cream to enhance the skin’s natural hydration. It contains nutrient-rich avocado oil which helps to create an healthy, plumped visage to help decrease the appearance of fine lines whilst antibacterial manuka flower oil promotes the perfect blemish free complexion. The moisturiser contains sweet almond and vanilla pod for a lovely, subtle and sweet scent which lingers for a few minutes after massaging the cream into my skin.
The Day Cream is suited to most skin conditions but is said to be especially effective for those with oily and sensitive skin. It is also scientifically proven to stimulate collagen production by up to 51%, so it’s suitable for all ages. I was surprised by how rich I the moisturiser is seeing as it’s called the Light Facial Day Cream, but I’ve found it to be lovely and rich, which is ideal for my dry skin.
Even though it’s a rich cream, I find that it absorbs nicely without leaving any residue on the skin’s surface and it works as a great base for my makeup. I’ve found the serum and day cream work fantastically together for making my skin plump, soft, hydrated and protected. I really do enjoy using them both together, and I would seriously consider repurchasing them once they run out which is rare for me as I very rarely repurchase skincare as I like trying new products and brands but I’m so impressed with this Antipodes Skincare duo.
