I’m not entirely sure why, but Laura Mercier is a brand I’ve not had a lot of experience with but I decided it was time that I finally tried their products when I saw their gorgeous Christmas gift sets. I absolutely love cream eyeshadows and eyeshadow sticks so I instantly fell in love with the Laura Mercier Matte To Metal Holiday Caviar Stick Eye Colour Collection when I saw it especially as it’s such good value.
The Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Colour Sticks are £22 each and they contain 1.64 grams of product, but this set contains six x 1 gram travel sized Caviar Sticks which makes this set worth £80.48 which is pretty amazing considering the set costs £39 (exclusive to House of Fraser) especially as it contains two exclusive shades (Aubergine and Ganache).
The Laura Mercier Matte To Metal Holiday Caviar Stick Eye Colour Collection contains six Caviar Stick Eye Colours, with two new matte shades and four shimmery shades. Each of the sticks are packaged within short, stubby plastic pencils with a lid which secures very tightly which I really like as it prevents them from drying out.
I was particularly intrigued to try the Caviar Sticks as they claim to have a long-wearing, transfer-resistant and crease-resistant formula and I’ve read nothing but rave reviews about them. Each stick has a rounded nib which is easy so apply all over the eyelid, as well as along the lower lashline.
All six Laura Mercier Matte To Metal shades are absolutely beautiful, and I love the inclusion of two new matte shades. All of the shades are super pigmented, with a lovely creamy consistency that is easy to apply, and blend with either an eyeshadow brush or your fingertip.
After applying the cream shadow, you have around fifteen seconds to blend it in before it starts to set so you do have to work quite quickly but once they’ve set, they stay in place in all day long without fading or creasing whatsoever and they don’t require an eyeshadow primer either. #
There isn’t one shade in this Laura Mercier Matte To Metal set that I don’t love, and I’ll definitely get a lot of wear from them all but I particularly love how some of the shades can be used together with Sugar Frost working nicely with all of the other five shades.
My favourite shade from the set would have to be Khaki as it’s so unique to anything else in my collection and it really makes my green eyes pop but I genuinely love them all. I am so happy that I bought this set as it’s such good value, and the formula of the Caviar Sticks really is amazing and possibly the best eyeshadow stick formula I’ve tried.
