Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Lipsticks Review and Swatches

Makeup Revolution’s newest release is a range of five lipsticks to go alongside their bestselling Unicorns Unite Eyeshadow Palette; the Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Lipsticks. The Unicorns Unite Lipsticks are £1 each, but you can purchase all five for £4 on the Makeup Revolution website.

The Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Lipsticks are definitely not for the fainthearted, as they’re all very bright vivid shades which are definitely out of my comfort zone but if you love colour, you’ll love this new collection. I’m not entirely sure I’d be able to pull of all of these shades, but I think Myth is possibly the most wearable shade from the range.

Legend, Throne, Magical and Horn of Magic are all metallic shades, with Myth being the only non-metallic shade but it does contain blue shimmer particles. I am not entirely sure this collection was necessary, as the shades are essentially metallic versions of the Atomic Lipstick Collection.

I think it would have been better if the Unicorns Unite Collection included shades from the actual Unicorns Unite Palette, but instead they’re lighter and metallic versions of lipsticks which already exist within their collection.

The lipsticks are a little waxy, and they do need to be built up to fully opaque coverage but once I’ve built up the colour, they do feel smooth on the lips. Legend is a metallic silver toned lilac, Throne is a deep metallic plum, Magical is a metallic blue toned purple, Myth is a shimmery bright reddy pink and Horn of Magic is a metallic light green shade.

I think Myth is the most wearable shade from the collection, and will be the most popular shade from the five strong collection. I think this collection will be perfect for Halloween, and for those who like to experiment with bright lip colours and at a £1 each they won’t break the bank either.
