I’m a massive fan of the OCC Lip Tars but I do find their packaging to be a little bit fiddly as they’re packaged within small squeezy plastic tubes and they have to be applied with a lip brush, so you have to take your time and apply them carefully or they can be very messy very quickly. OCC have kept their range of Lip Tars but they’ve just launched a range of OCC Lip Tar Ready To Wear Liquid Lipsticks which have the same fantastic Lip Tar formula but they’re packaged in much more user-friendly packaging.
The OCC Lip Tar Ready To Wear Liquid Lipsticks are £11.50 each are available to purchase from Love-Makeup in an impressive 25 different shades. I love that OCC have created the new Ready To Wear formula in their existing shades so if you know you love an OCC Lip Tar shade, you can now purchase it in the new packaging which is fantastic rather than releasing new shades altogether.
The OCC Lip Tar Ready To Wear Liquid Lipsticks are packaged within conventional lipgloss/liquid lipstick packaging, inside a plastic tube with a traditional doefoot applicator which is perfect for a precise and even application without the need for a lip brush.
Just like the original Lip Tar formula, you only need the tiniest amount of product or they do bleed (especially the darker colours) so I always like to use a clear lipliner underneath to try and keep bleeding to a minimum and I find it gives a crisper edge too and the Ready To Wear Lip Tars have the identical minty scent and tingling sensation once applied.
I have three of the 25 shades; Black Dahlia, Hush and Anime which are all pretty different from eachother. Firstly Black Dahlia is a super intense berry red which looks black in the tube, but when worn sheerly on the lips it looks more berry, but when built up it becomes almost a blackened berry shade. I do find Black Dahlia to be a little too intense for my liking as I don’t find dark shades to be very flattering for my skintone but this really is the perfect Autumn/Winter lip colour.
My favourite shade from the three is Hush, which is a pastel peachy pink shade which I actually own in the original formula and I love it, especially when layered over a mauvey pink lipliner. I imagine Hush will be too pale for most skintones, but luckily for me it does work well with my pale skin and I love its peachy tones. #The last shade is the extremely vibrant Anime which is almost a neon pink which is quite neutral in tone. I don’t normally like super bright shades like this, but Anime is just amazing and I think it would look incredible in Spring and Summer with matching neon nails.
I think the OCC Lip Tar Ready To Wear Liquid Lipsticks are fantastic, especially if you love a longlasting liquid lipstick as these last and last with a weartime of around six to seven hours for Anime and eight hours for Black Dahlia, and even after the eight hours it leaves behind a berry stain on the lips.
Hush has the shortest weartime in the trio at around four hours, but even that’s impressive considering these aren’t matte liquid lipsticks. I think £11.50 is a pretty reasonable price for liquid lipsticks of this quality especially compared to the likes of the Stila Liquid Lipsticks which are £15, and the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks which are £19 and I think the OCC Lip Tar Ready To Wear Liquid Lipsticks are better quality and they’re cruelty free which is a nice bonus.
