Ever since Laura Geller became more readily available here in the UK, I’ve really been enjoying trying products from their range. I am obsessed with highlighters so I had to purchase the highly raved about Laura Geller Baked Split Highlighter Duo which is £34 and it contains a dual ended sponge applicator. The Laura Geller Baked Split Highlighter Duo contains two shades of their highlighter in Portofino and French Vanilla in a generous 8 gram compact.
When I first saw the applicator, I thought it was a little strange for an highlighter applicator but it’s actually very effective. The applicator has one pointed sponge end, and the other end is a large rounded sponge, and both are very soft.
I like to use the small applicator for applying the highlighter under my brow bone, or in my inner eye corners and use the larger applicator for applying highlight for my cheekbones. Baked products can cause a lot of the powder to kick up in the pan, but by using this sponge there isn’t any kick up at all or unnecessary wastage.
Both shades within the Laura Geller Baked Split Highlighter Duo are stunning, and I love how different they are from eachother as you can use them individually or use them blended together. French Vanilla is the subtler shade from the duo, and is a gorgeous creamy beige with a satin finish, whereas Portofino is a sparkling peach. French Vanilla is my ideal everyday highlighter shade, and I like using Portofino for the times where I want a more intense highlight.
Due to the highlighters being baked, they can also be used wet too by dampening the applicator for an almost metallic finish. I am so pleased that I bought this set, although I do think it’s a little pricey for what you get especially when you compare it to the MAC Mineralize Skinfinishes which are cheaper at £24 and contain more at 10 grams but it’s still a nice addition to my collection.
