I have a serious obsession with eyeshadow pencils.. they’re just so quick and easy to use, and I love that they can be used individually for a quick, no fuss eye makeup look or you can use them as a base for other eyeshadows. I’d heard so many amazing things about the Makeup Forever Aqua Matic Eyeshadow Pencils, so I knew I had to try one so I opted for ME-50 Metallic Golden Taupe as it looked like such a gorgeous shade which I knew I’d get a lot of use out of.
The Makeup Forever Aqua Matic pencils have a waterproof and smudgeproof formula, which is packaged within a retractable pencil which has its very own little sharpener within the base, which you can use to sharpen the nib if you want a more precise application.
The Aqua Matic pencils can be used as eyeshadow or as eyeliner, as they have such an incredibly creamy formula which just glides across the eyelid with no tugging whatsoever. I like to use the pencil to draw all over my eyelid, and then use a blending brush to soften the edges and blend some of the shadow along my lower lashline.
Makeup Forever Metallic Golden Taupe Aqua Matic Eyeshadow Pencil – £16 – Precious About Makeup
Once you’ve applied the pencil to your lids, you do have to work quickly as they set within around 15 seconds and once they’re applied, they literally do not budge, flake or smudge until you take your makeup off so they’d be ideal for those with oily eyelids as it’s such a long wearing formula. I can even used Metallic Golden Taupe within my waterline, and it stays put for at least three hours which I think is impressive especially as they’re not marketed as being eyeliners.
Metallic Golden Taupe’s name describes the shade perfectly.. it really is a stunning shade, and I think it compliments my green eyes too. I am definitely going to purchase more shades of the Makeup Forever Aqua Matic as they have the most perfect formula, and I love that they come with their own sharpener too.
