Seventeen really have come a long way, especially over the last two years as it’s no longer a brand for teens starting out in makeup and now a credible brand of makeup for all ages. I remember getting Seventeen (or 17 as they were once known) giftsets for Christmas when I was younger and I always loved them. The Seventeen Christmas range this year is really impressive, and I knew I had to get the Seventeen Falsifeye HD Perfect Eyes Gift Set as it contained my holy grail mascara; the Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara which you’ll have seen me rave about here.
The Seventeen Falsifeye HD Perfect Eyes Gift Set contains five products to create ‘perfect eyes’. It includes a full size of the Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara worth £6.99, a full size of the Seventeen Tattoo Me Semi Permanent Liquid Eyeliner worth £4.99, a full size Seventeen Make Your Marks Precision Eyeliner Pen worth £3.99, and two Seventeen mono eyeshadows which aren’t available to purchase individually.
The Seventeen Falsifeye HD Perfect Eyes Gift Set is £14 and it has a value of £15.97 for the mascara, and two liners alone without even considering the eyeshadows which is pretty great value, and a good way to try the brand.
The Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara has a plastic, spiky bristle wand which does an amazing job at creating volumised, long lashes with absolutely no clumps. I never find that it flakes or smudges, and it’s not too hard to remove either. It’s definitely my favourite mascara, and I cannot believe it’s only £7 to buy alone so I’m happy to have a backup thanks to this set.
The Seventeen Tattoo Me Semi Permanent Liquid Eyeliner was a little intimidating to use at first, as the name scared me that I wouldn’t be able to remove any mistakes but luckily you can remove them, providing you have a cotton bud ready to remove them immediately, otherwise they’re not going anywhere.
I would definitely say this eyeliner is for those who are a pro with their liner, as it isn’t particularly forgiving. The liner has a small brush which I find quite easy to use, but it is quite runny so it’s a little messy.
The Seventeen Make Your Mark Precision Eyeliner Pen is a felt tip liner with a sharp nib, which is quite firm and isn’t flexible like some felt tip liner pens.
The nib really does give a very precise, thin line and is super black. I like to use this pen for drawing my liner along my lashes, and then use the Tattoo Me Liner for doing my flicks, and they work really well together.
There is a taupey brown shimmer eyeshadow, and a light pink shimmer eyeshadow and I wouldn’t say they’re the best quality in terms of pigmentation and it took six to seven swipes to get these swatches, but they do perform better when layered over a primer. I think these shadows are a nice addition to the set, but I wouldn’t purchase the kit purely for the shadows as I feel you’d be disappointed, but the mascara and liners are really great quality.
