When you’re a beauty obsessive and you see new product releases, there’s nothing worse than the products being exclusive to the US and I was gutted when the Too Faced Christmas Collection launched as we only got a couple of their gift sets over here. When I saw the Too Faced Le Petit Tresor Gift Set, I knew I had to have it as I love the Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lipsticks, and the set contained three full sized lipsticks.
In the US, the Too Faced Le Petit Tresor Gift Set is just $29/£19 but because I bought from a UK retailer which sells US beauty treats, they were more expensive at £26 but I still felt like it was worth it because one of the full size Too Faced La Creme Lipsticks are £18 each, so this set has a value of £54 so even though I had to pay more, it was still a good deal in my opinion.
The Too Faced Le Petit Tresor Gift Set is packaged within a pretty, turqouise blue glitter covered little bag which has a lovely little gold eiffel tower zip pull. The little bag really is gorgeous, but the glitter comes off and goes everywhere so I wouldn’t recommend purchasing the set for the bag as you end up covered in big chunky glitter everytime you touch it but it’s still very pretty.
The three lipsticks are wrapped in black tissue paper and I love the packaging of the Too Faced La Creme Lipsticks, as they’re packaged within weighty gold metal casing which feels and looks luxurious.
The three shades within the kit include one kit exclusive; Wham, which is a dark berry which contains multi coloured glitter particles, which sounds like it should be awful but it’s actually really pretty on the lips, and the glitter isn’t gritty thankfully. Once the lipstick has worn away, it does leave your lips covered in glitter which isn’t the best, but it really is a lovely colour.
Then there are two permanent shades within the kit; Taffy and Nude Beach, which are both perfect nude shades, and I love them both. Taffy is a pinky nude, whereas Nude Beach is a more of a beige nude but they are very similar and shades I’ll get a lot of wear out of.
The formula of the La Creme lipsticks is lovely, as they’re so creamy and balm like on the lips, but they’re rather opaque too with a slight sheen. I’m so glad I managed to track down this set, as I love it and Wham is such an unique shade and I don’t have anything similar within my lipstick collection so it’s a welcome addition.
