Laura Geller Perfectly Pink Gift Set
I have become such a massive Laura Geller fan over the last few months, and I’ve been loving trying more and more products from the brand since they become more readily available here in the UK. For Christmas, Laura Geller have released a range of festive gift sets, and I fell in love with the Laura Geller Perfectly Pink Gift Set as it’s such amazing value for what you get. The kit is £45, but it contains six full size items which I’ll detail below but it really is great value and the perfect gift idea for any beauty lover.
The Laura Geller Perfectly Pink Gift Set contains; Laura Geller Color Brilliance Lipstick in the shade Wink worth £17, a Laura Geller StyleLASH Mascara worth £19, a powder brush, a Laura Geller Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Blush in the shade Rosewater worth £21, a Laura Geller Balance n Brighten Baked Correcting Foundation in the shade Medium worth £26, and lastly the Laura Geller Spackle Color-Correcting Under Makeup Primer worth £24, which makes the set worth £107 without even counting the brush – amazing.
I’ve never tried any of the Laura Geller lipsticks before, but I know I need to look into their lipsticks as this one is just lovely.
Wink is a gorgeous medium pink, with a really creamy consistency which glides across the lips effortlessly without tugging the lips and it’s forgiving on the lips too which I love as it doesn’t cling to every single imperfection on your lips. I particularly like how slim the bullet is, as it’s easier to get a precise application and you can use the edges to line your lips too.
I love trying new mascaras, as my lashes are so pathetic so I need all the help I can get. This mascara has a really unique wand, and the bristles are natural bristles as opposed to plastic bristles but they’re nicely spread out to give the effect of a plastic bristled wand so you really don get the best of both worlds.
This is described as being a lengthening mascara, which leaves your lashes soft, flexible and flake free and it really does.. it’s so gentle on my lashes, and it’s easy to remove but it’s long wearing which baffles me, as long wearing mascaras are notoriously hard to remove but not with the Stylelash Mascara.
The brush isn’t the best brush I’ve used in all honesty, but it’s still a nice inclusion within the set. This brush has dense bristles which are a little scratchy, but I think it’s a good brush for applying powder foundation but I’ve found that it’s too dense for the Balance n Brighten as it picks up much too powder but a loose mineral foundation would be a better match.
I already own a couple of the Laura Geller Spackle Primers in the Hydrating formula and the Original formula and they’re such brilliant primers, and the tube is huge at 59ml which is very generous when you consider the Benefit POREfessional contains just 22ml for the same price.
The Color Correcting Spackle within the Laura Geller Perfectly Pink Gift Set is a creamy peach shade, and it looks a little shimmery when first squeezed from the tube but once you’ve massaged it into your skin, there’s no detectable shimmer whatsoever which I’m very pleased about as I’m not a fan of the whole discoball look.
I don’t suffer from a lot of pigmentation issues, but my skin can get quite red as it’s so sensitive so sometimes I use a green concealer or primer to try and counteract any redness but I was intrigued to see how this primer would fair as it’s a peachy colour.
Just like the other Spackle Primers, this one is lovely and hydrating on the skin and feels more like a skincare product than a primer and it isn’t at all slimey like some primers can be. Within a couple of mintues of applying this primer, any redness instantly subsides so you could get away with wearing a lower coverage foundation as you don’t have to cover up the redness. Not only does it help with colour issues, it also helps keep my makeup in place all day long.
The Balance n Brighten foundation is Laura Geller’s most iconic product, and for good reason. It can be used on its own, or used in combination with your preferred base, and is said to contain the age-fighting, anti-oxidant protection of Centella Asiatica and White Tea.
This Laura Geller Perfectly Pink Gift Set contains the shade medium which is much too dark for me, but I own Porcelain which is a perfect shade match for me, but all is not lost as Medium is surprisingly cool toned, and it actually works as the most perfect contour powder for my skin tone which was an amazing surprise. It has a buttery consistency, which buffs into the skin beautifully for a really natural and flawless finish.
I’ve wanted to try one of the Laura Geller Gelato Blushes for a while now, as I’ve read some amazing things about them so I’m happy one was included within the Laura Geller Perfectly Pink Gift Set. Rosewater is the most stunning bright pink, with a subtle sheen which is insanely pigmented, meaning you only need to tap your brush lightly onto the powder; a little goes such a long way.
I like how buildable this shade is considering how pigmented it is, as you can wear it quite sheerly when using a light hand, but it builds up nicely for a more intense, brighter pink and it lasts for at least six hours on me before I begin to notice any fading.
I am so impressed with the lovely Laura Geller Perfectly Pink Gift Set, and I think it’s such a great deal considering all of the beautiful products it contains. If you’ve never tried anything from Laura Geller before, i urge you to try something as I’ve been blown away by every product I’ve tried so far and they deserve a lot more praise and recognition.
