Topshop Smokey Eye Kit

If you saw my Feel unique haul, you’ll have seen that I bought the Topshop Smokey Eye Kit £20. I am a massive fan of eyeshadow pencils as I find them so fuss free and easy to apply, and you can create an eyeshadow look in a matter of seconds and they are usually pretty long lasting too so you don’t have to worry about fading or creasing either. Sometimes I use an eyeshadow pencil as a base for powder shadows, but the shades within this set are so gorgeous that they deserve to be used alone..

The Topshop Smokey Eye Kit comes packaged within a white gift box, which has a bright purple glitter insert which looks so pretty and festive; I’m such a sucker for glitter. I love that you could gift this set without having to wrap it as it comes with a lid, with Topshop written in opalescent writing.

The Topshop Smokey Eye Kit contains four full size Topshop products; three Topshop Smoke Stick Eyeshadow Pencils, and the Topshop Magic Liner Eyeliner.

The Topshop Smoke Stick Pencils are a relatively new addition to the Topshop Beauty range, and the three shades within this set are not available to purchase individually which I really appreciate.

The three shades included are; Conspire, Deviant and Dark Horse. Before getting this set, I’d never tried any of the Topshop Smoke Sticks before so I thought this set was a perfect way to try them as they’re normally £6.50 each, and the Magic Liner is usually £6.50 too so the value of this set is £26 which is pretty good for £20.

The Toshop Magic Liner is something I’ve wanted to try for such a long time, but it’s always out of stock whenever I’m instore so I was really happy to see it within this kit. This liner has a long, flexible nib which I really like as I find them so much easier to use compared to short, stiff nibs especially when creating eyeliner flicks.

I particularly like how secure the cap is on this liner, as it almost has a double click to ensure it doesn’t dry out and pen liners like these have the tendency to dry out very easily so I’m hoping this lid stops the liner from drying out.

The three Smoke Stick pencils within the Topshop Smokey Eye Kit are amazingly creamy and pigmented – they’ve really impressed me, especially as I haven’t seen many reviews on them since they launched. They are all so soft and easy to apply directly to the eyelids and I like that you can use all three shades together to create the perfect smokey eye.

Conspire is a pale gold shimmer, Deviant is a light brown shimmer and Dark House is a rich, cool toned brown satin. I would honestly liken the quality of these pencils to the Laura Mercier Caviar Eyeshadow Sticks and I would love to try more shades as these are just gorgeous.

The Magic Liner is amazing.. the nib is so flexible so it bends with the contours of your eye which makes your liner so much easier to apply. The swatches above do show some feathering, but it doesn’t feather at all when on the eyes thankfully, and it’s relatively long lasting too.

You can create a super, thin and precise line with the nib or a much thicker and intense line too. I am really impressed with this kit, and I’m so glad I picked it up as I love all four products. I really need to try more from the Topshop Beauty range, as I’ve loved everything I’ve tried and I’m yet to be disappointed..
