Becca is such a talked about brand, but I’ve only ever tried a couple of their products. I’ve always wanted one of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed highlighters, but the lightest shade until now; Moonstone, was much too dark for my skintone so I was thrilled when they finally created a paler shade. Pearl was a limited edition shade within the Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Palette, but due to popular demand, Becca decided to make Pearl a permanent shade in the full size and I ordered it as soon as I saw it launch on the Cult Beauty website.
The Becca Pearl Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed is $38/£28 and contains 7 grams of product. The highlighter is enriched with ultrafine luminescent pearls that absorb, reflect, and refract light. Becca claim their Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed powders are unique because “the traditional pressed powder method which simply mixes and compresses dry ingredients, this unique process blends pigments with proprietary liquid binders, resulting in unparalleled, creamy application with balanced color dispersion”. The packaging is stunning, with a dark brown rubberised compact with a silver metal top which reminds me of a little highlighter spaceship.
The Becca Pearl Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed is the most incredible pearly white shade which is absolutely perfect for those with pale skin, as it blends into the skin rather than sitting on top of it. The texture of the powder is stunning, with a creamy consistency which applies beautifully to the skin. Due its icy white nature, it is possible to go overboard so I like to apply it with a fan brush but it can be built up should you like a more intense highlighted effect. Not only is Pearl the most perfect facial highlighter shade, it’s also great for using as an eyeshadow topper for an extra shot of shimmer. MAC Lightscapade has always been my favourite highlighter, but this has very much replaced it as my number one highlighter and I might have purchased the Poured version after falling in love with Pearl.
