L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist

The L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist launched over in the US at the end of 2014, and after reading so many rave reviews, I’ve been dying to get my hands on it so I was really surprised when I spotted it on the Boots website about a month ago, especially as I hadn’t heard anything about it launching in the UK.

L'Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist

I purchased my L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist for £6.99, but it’s now increased in price to £7.99 but the US version is $16.99/£11.91 and normally the UK pays a lot more for beauty products so it’s amazing that ours is considerably cheaper.

Both the US and the UK version of the L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist contain 100mls of product but the US version claims to be oil-free, whereas the UK version doesn’t mention oil whatsoever and from looking online, the ingredients lists are different from eachother so I’m guessing the formula is a little different as well as the packaging.

The L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist claims to extend the wear of your makeup, and prevent it from melting, fading or cracking. The bottle is white in colour, but you can see the liquid inside the bottle and the bottle contains a ball bearing which shakes up the mixture before use.

I’ve never used a setting spray with a clear bottle before, but it feels odd that the liquid foams up so much after shaking but this could happen in every setting spray but this is the only bottle which is clear enough to show the thick foam.

To use the mist, you simply spritz it over your finished makeup in an X and T motion in order to set your makeup. The bottle dispenses a nice, fine mist which doesn’t leave my face feeling ‘wet’ and it doesn’t make my mascara or eyeliner smudge like the Urban Decay ones do.

I’ve found that the L’Oreal Mist has quite a strong perfumed scent to it which isn’t unpleasant, but it’s a little strong for my liking and thankfully it hasn’t agitated my sensitive skin. If I’m completely honest, I didn’t expect very much from this setting spray as I was so disappointed by the Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray but it’s safe to say, I’m very impressed.

It really does work to keep my makeup in place, and prevent any fading or melting and it keeps my makeup colours looking as vibrant as they were once first applied; even my eyeshadows and eyeliner. I will just say, it’s imperative to thoroughly shake the bottle before use.. if you don’t, you will cover your face in white powdery flecks but a quick shake and it’s absolutely perfect.

Since falling in love with L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist, I’ve ditched my Urban Decay Setting Spray as it’s no way near as good as the L’Oreal spray in my opinion – I love it!
